LEADERSHIP FOR RESPONSIBLE CHANGE (20 credits)

During this module, you’ll learn how to anticipate, manage and lead positive and responsible change within your organisation.

You will:• Develop your understanding of a range of change

management theories • Explore types of change and processes for

managing planned and emergent change• Deepen your appreciation of the role of change

agents in leading and supporting individuals and teams through transition

Throughout, you’ll draw on your own experience to reflect and evaluate your effectiveness in this area and link theory to practice in the contexts in which you work.

DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP (20 credits)

This module will prepare you for the entrepreneurial journey, whether it is turning your idea into a business strategy, growing something you have already started, or innovating inside your organisation.

Throughout, you’ll adopt a variety of cutting-edge techniques to support support you to:• Develop your entrepreneurial and managerial

skills • Explore the opportunities and challenges that

digital technologies present entrepreneurs• Learn more about the impact that digital

technologies can have on the creation and recognition of entrepreneurial opportunities

• Understand more about starting-up a digital enterprise, and deepen your understanding of how to scale-up

Upon completion, you will have developed a thorough understanding of the fundamental, contemporary skills needed to create and develop a sustainable digital enterprise.

STRATEGIC MARKETING FOR SUSTAINABLE COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE (20 credits)

The aim of this module is to help you to understand and apply marketing theories to introduce sustainable marketing strategies to contemporary cross-cultural markets. Through engaging course content and interactive workshops, you will:• Learn how to understand your market and

develop appropriate marketing strategies (encompassing audits, customer profiling,

new product development, understanding contemporary buyers, pricing strategy and more)

• Explore how to successfully implement marketing strategy (including stakeholder management, the marketing mix, strategic communication, behavioural economics, digital and international marketing)

• Develop your knowledge of emerging areas in contemporary marketing strategy (including internal, ethical and responsible marketing)

By the end of this module, you will have developed a critical understanding of the advanced concepts, theories and techniques that underpin strategic marketing management and have the confidence to put theory into practice in your organisation.

ANALYSING SELF FOR STRATEGIC CAREER DEVELOPMENT (20 credits)

This module aims to enhance your employability by supporting you to develop the capabilities and attributes identified as important in the profession of your choice.

You will:• Create toolkits that will help you to analyse

your strengths and weaknesses in relation to leadership, teamwork and communication

• Receive guidance on how to craft a professional postgraduate CV with supporting documents and a LinkedIn profile

• Develop your knowledge of the labour market, including opportunities for self-employment or promotion

By the end of the module, you’ll be able to critically reflect on your personal and professional skills, and be able to demonstrate how they can be utilised in an organisation to help drive success.

GLOBALISATION, INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY (20 credits)

This module has been designed to support the development of key responsible management and strategic decision making skills. In particular, you will learn how to evaluate and implement suitable strategies that support disruptive, innovative and sustainable organisational development. The module is focused around three main themes:1. Strategic options in the ‘post-great recession’

economic and business environment2. Innovation3. Sustainability

organisations can impact wider society and the environment, as well as the ability to interpret and apply knowledge of international business, management and organisational functions.

BUSINESS ANALYTICS FOR MANAGEMENT (20 credits)

This module will help you to develop some of the “hard” analytical and technical skills required by businesses to implement business intelligence and analytics solutions. Throughout the course of the module, you will:• Be introduced to business management

processes, tools and methodologies• Build skills in problem solving, activity modelling,

scorecard development and data modelling• Learn how to provide clear, critical, informative

management interpretations based on data

There will be a strong emphasis on using tools such as Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), Balanced Scorecard, Strategy Maps and MS Excel.

RESEARCH METHODS (20 credits)

This module has been designed to help you develop the capabilities needed to plan and carry out a

substantive research-based investigation in your specialist business discipline.

The module will see you:• Engaging with the purpose and process of

research• Searching for, managing and evaluating potential

sources for inclusion in a literature review• Identifying and refining appropriate research

questions, leading to the creation of a research study proposal

• Critically appreciating research theory, methods and ethics

• Developing your knowledge and skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods

• Practically applying ethics in research

RESEARCH BASED STUDY (40 credits)

This final module will see you designing and conducting a substantive research-based investigation. Over the course of this unit, you’ll look to address a work based or professional/practice related problem within your discipline area. It will be a student-led, independent study that will allow you to apply and build upon your previous learning throughout the course to put the academic skills you’ve learnt into practice. You’ll also develop your project management expertise, research skills and critical evaluation techniques throughout.
