The University Honors Program
The Kutztown University Honors Program provides
a challenging, individualized and rewarding
experience for students who have academically
distinguished themselves in high school. The
program complements your degree requirements with
exceptional opportunities for research, field trips and
professional development. You may also design,
with faculty, an independent study course in a field
that interests you.
Honors participants enroll in a curriculum that
brings together students from across the university.
They also have access to seminars, peer mentoring,
honors research experiences and internships.
The culmination of the experience is the thesis
presentation at a professional conference, along with
honors program recognition on a student’s transcript.
Study Abroad
A truly global education — the kind that prepares
you for a business career and life success in an
interdependent world — knows no boundaries.
During your career, you will collaborate with people
and work with companies from around the world, and
there’s no better way to raise your awareness of other
cultures than by living and studying abroad.
Kutztown offers exciting ways to expand your
academic experience. The Office of International
Programs sponsors numerous study abroad programs
at destinations such as England, China, Spain,
Ecuador, Germany and the Netherlands.
You’ll become immersed in a culture apart from
your own while gaining an international perspective
on specific areas of academic interest. Our study
abroad program will transform you personally and
give you a clearer view of the world at large.

Internships and Career Development
Today’s top employers are looking for ambitious
graduates who have enriching experiences outside
the classroom in addition to a high-quality academic
background. At Kutztown, you get both. Kutztown
students intern at Fortune 500 companies, newly
established entrepreneurial ventures, non-profits
and everything in between. Internships are located
across the region, as well as in Philadelphia and
New York City.
Your first step will be Kutztown’s Career
Development Center. Whether you are trying to
decide on a major, learning about career fields or
looking for an internship or a job after graduation, the
center’s knowledgeable staff members provide you
with the information and opportunities you need to
gain a step-up in the job market.
Another option Kutztown provides is the
opportunity to intern at the Small Business
Development Center (SBDC). This on-campus facility
offers the chance to work with local entrepreneurs
who are beginning their own business. Here you are
able to apply the knowledge you received in your
classes to a real-world setting. You can also work with

existing businesses: assisting with everything from the
creation of a marketing plan to financial projections
through the use of our Financial Management
system. The center’s experienced team of consultants
and MBA graduate students will provide fresh
perspectives to each case.
Dual Major and Minor Programs
Students with interests in more than one area may
want to consider declaring a dual major. By combining
two majors, a student graduates with qualifications to
excel in a variety of careers. Consider the possibilities:
marketing and professional writing are excellent
preparation for a career in public relations. Finance
and mathematics will prepare you to become a
certified financial planner. Declaring a dual
major may require attending Kutztown for an
additional semester or two.
Declaring a minor is similar, though it requires
fewer additional courses. A modern language minor
is popular for many students, because it provides
them with additional insight into a foreign culture and
assists students seeking careers with international
companies or targeting multi-lingual consumers in
the United States. Another option is to minor in an
area closely related to your major to expand your
knowledge base.
