Welcome to our 70 Kindergarten students. The transition this week has been a very smooth one and the children seem to be really enjoying their time at “Big School.” Please remember that school will start at 9.30am and finish at 2.30pm for kinder- garten students till Monday 15 February. If you require before and after school care please call David on 0430369288 at PrimaryOSHcare. A holding room is available in the after- noons in KP (Ms Panetta’s classroom) till 3.00pm if required. Our first parent social evening is a barefoot bowling night on Saturday 27 February at 7.30pm. Please check the flyer for further details. Classes for 2016 Welcome back to all our teachers for 2016. Students who turn 8 this year and can confidently swim 50 metres are encouraged to participate. Please ensure per- mission notes are returned to class teachers by tomorrow. their own sunscreen to school and teachers will encourage students to reapply before they go out into the playground. Teachers can not apply the cream to students (child protec-tion reasons) and therefore roll-on sunscreen is a better option for our younger students. Please teach your children to apply sunscreen at home. Hats and drink bottles are a necessity for outdoor play so please make sure they are in bags daily and are named. PSSA coaches and grades will have communal sunscreen available for use. If your child has allergies to any sunscreen ingredients or brands please inform the school immediately. No Nuts at school Please do not pack nuts or nut products in lunch boxes. The school has a strictly “no nut” policy as we currently have 14 students who are allergic to different types of nuts and when in contact with nuts or nut products they can have a life-threatening reaction. No peanut butter, nutella or home-made treats containing nuts. The sharing of food is also not permitted at school. Birthday cakes and treats are not en-couraged at school but if provided must not contain any nuts. Canteen – Help needed! Volunteer assistance for the canteen is desperately required for 2016. We currently have no Canteen Coordinator or enough volunteers to help run the canteen for 2016. A can-teen open morning next Thursday 11 February at 9-9.30am will be run for interested and new parents to come and talk to Sarah and Mrs Lee about volunteering for a day, or even a half day in the canteen. Kindy parents are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting to talk to Sarah about the commitment and procedures to volunteer in the canteen. If you are interested in being the Canteen Coordinator please contact Sarah or Mrs Lee about the position or come to next Tuesday’s P&C meeting at 7.30pm in the staffroom to dis-cuss further. SCHOLASTIC BOOKCLUB

Scholastic Bookclubs are a great way for you to purchase quality educational/reading material for your children. An added bonus is that 20% of all sales comes back to the school in the form of vouchers which can be used to purchase much needed new reading material for the classrooms. There are usually 8 issues per year (2 per term). Submission date will be notified in the Bush Tele-graph. It is usually the Friday of the week the order forms are issued to the children. Ordering is simple. You can go online and com-plete the order (preferred method) or submit the paper order to the office. Items will be distributed to the children 1-2 weeks after I have submitted the final order. If you wish to keep the items secret, please send me an email and I will put aside for your collection from the office. Issue 1 is due back at school by 9.00am Friday 12 February 2016. No late orders accepted. If you have any queries, please contact me at:
