Dave Machell Musical Director and Composer“ When I wrote some songs for the Burton Joyce Players’ production of The Wind in the Willows back in 1993, I scarcely thought they would re-appear—albeit in a twenty-first century make-over—here in 2017! I love to write music of all kinds—music theatre, contemporary rock, contemporary classical. I’m always looking for interesting sounds, great grooves, thrilling atmospheres and punchy lyrics. I am so proud that the Players have taken the TOAD songs to their hearts a second time. Thanks to Kathy and Patrick for making it happen!”
You can hear Dave’s new contemporary choral piece PRIMAVERA sung by INCANTO at West Bridgford Methodist Church on Saturday 3 March 2018. If you like singing or hearing Handel’s MESSIAH, look out for Dave’s workshop in next year’s Lowdham Book Festival… and don’t forget to get tickets for the family for Dave’s CONCERTO FOR HORN played by the inspirational ROBERT PARKER with the NOTTINGHAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA on Saturday 7 July at the Albert Hall in Nottingham. HIGH WIRE, the crazy-love-story musical written by Dave with lyricist Martin Lloyd-Penny for the Bring-a-Bag Cabaret project, is being recorded over the winter and will be available in the spring! It stars the amazing Sarah Jane Carlin and Sam Joy.
We would again like to thank delights deli and gift Shop for their support with our ticket sales.
