Planning is coming together nicely and the event is shaping up to be an entertaining evening for the whole family. The proceeds from this fete will be used to continue with improvements to buildings and grounds at the school. In particular, we are hoping to install a projector system in our gym to accompany the sound system that is already in place. This will have many uses, but largely will be used for presentations at assemblies. There will be no need to prepare dinner on fete night, as there will be a range of food on offer including baked potatoes, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, and corn on the cob. There will be plenty to entertain the kids with a Christmas craft station, face painting, jumping castles, Farmer Darryl’s Farmyard, a handball competition, lucky dips, busking, the dunk tank, Muldoon’s Casino, the strong man hammer swing, cake decorating and a coin toss. Adults who come along might be more interested in picking up a bargain at the Goods and Service Auction, Wood Raffle or one of the Japanese, art, cake or plant stalls, checking out the Writing Exhibition….or just enjoying a good coffee. Over the coming few weeks we will have plenty in the newsletter promoting the various stalls and activities that you can expect to see at the fete. SCHOOL FETE

Our fete is to be held from 5-8pm on Friday November 22

nd, which now is just a few weeks away. Planning is

coming together nicely and the event is shaping up to be an entertaining evening for the whole family.

ORGANISING CLASSES FOR 2014

It is the time of the year when we are about to get busy organising students into classes for next year. If there are significant issues we need to be aware of when allocating your child to a class, please make sure they have been made known to Bernie or Sue by Friday, November 15th. Teachers are meeting soon after to begin sorting children into classes. It is not our intention to provide parents with the opportunity to select a teacher of choice. We have developed a very strong teaching team and parents can be confident the needs of their child will be met by any member of our team. Developing well-balanced classes can be made difficult if there are large numbers of requests – as such, it is important that placement requests be founded on significant reasons and not related to specific teachers. We try to accommodate parent requests with regard to student placements, but you will understand this is not always possible.

A soft breeze ruffles the feathers o

By Tam Petrov, 3SD

I found a new plant in the garden which looked like a lemon

plant but the fruit was glowing red! By Aysha Brown, 3SD

The gate loomed over me, it was

big and old with cobwebs all over

it, but the question was what was

on the other side?

By Oliver Marshall, 3SD

The gate loomed over me, it was an iron gate with a bright green vine climbing up the iron, black gate. By Pirie Wakefield, 3SD

I feel a shudder as the rocky

landscape behind me starts to

crumble. The monster smashed

through the door with its rock

hard fists. Luke, 3PW

I could hear the troll screeching behind me. I

could also hear the faint sound of leaves

crunching. Paige and Miranda were screaming.

Scarlett, 3PW

We slam through some very old rusty farm gates. As soon

as I pulled Sarah up off the ground it was time to jump off

anyway. It didn’t look like it was going to stop anytime

soon. Charlotte, 3PW

On the wall there was a glowing shadow coming from the

torch Charlotte was holding. As it got closer and closer the

shadow got bigger and bigger. When Charlotte and I were

sitting we heard footsteps come echoing from further down

the cave. Sarah, 3PW

I’m writing about my Mum. She saves lives. She will

even save a stranger. My Mum will do anything to

stop you getting hurt. She is the best hero ever.

She’s even better than Superman.

Corey, 3HA

It was a stormy winter night, there was thunder

and pouring rain. Sam heard a noise outside the

door.

Josh, 3HA

Four miles away from a village was a house. Out

the back of the house was a garden. In the garden

was a lot of pretty flowers, vegetables and fruit.

The garden had brick walls for the veggie patch and

a grey bird bath and two bird houses.
