Bullying is bad . Dont make others feels sad.The word bully used to mean the total opposite of what it means now.

Five hundred years ago, it meant friend, family member or sweetheart.

The root of the word comes from the Dutch boel, meaning lover or brother. What is Bullying ?

What are the effects of bullying? Damage ones self image

Who is the bully ?They watch more violent TV shows at home.

They misbehave at home more frequently.

They spend less time with adults at home.

At home, when they are disciplined, they face more forceful parental discipline.

5. Bullies have fewer positive adult role model.

6. Bullies have fewer positive peer influence.

7. Bullies get into more fights.Based on these observation resulted from analysis of the family and social environment that:

36% of them came from single parent.

32% had step parents.

They had easier access to guns.

What are the signs that a person is being bullied?

Social Isolation or Withdrawal

Feeling sad

Fear/Anxiety of returning to the place where bullying has occurred.

Low Self Regard

Bruises, abrasions & other marksHow can we help a bullying victim?

It is important to listen and learn to be accepting of the bullying victim.

Reassure the victim that you are his/her side.

Parents should go to school authorities to work on a plan to make the school a safer place for the child.

Assigning a school buddy for the child.

Having a teacher mentor.

Being always within the company of friends.

How can we help the BULLY STUDENTS?

Study the family background of the child.

Personal circumstances such as influence of peers.

Awareness about childrens right.

Giving positive form of discipline.

Conference with the parents/guardian in respond to cases.

Follow up counseling.
