We all are fascinated by the concept of Superheroes. We dream of having their their powers and vanquishing the foes who aempt to hurt us. The interesng thing about Superheroes, though, is that none of them ever became a hero without facing hardship. Many, in fact, started out just normal people like you and me. They had to find their powers, harness it and take responsibility for their lives in order to overcome their challenges. So, don’t let your hardships break you. The ‘Bullied: Finding youp Hammep’ series resumes in March, 2015, and is aimed at children aged 10 to 14 years old. The workshop is conducted over two consecutive Saturday mornings, with each day running 2 hours in length. To maintain the highest standard of quality, each workshop is limited to 12 children. The workshop provides: A safe, fun and experiential learning

environment Professional and immersive facilitation A workshop booklet containing

guidance and information for parents on coping with the various effects of bullying

Accessible and affordable participation. We charge Medical Aid rates, enabling workshop fees to be claimed back from your Medical Aid

By assimilating elements of self-esteem, self-defense and psychology, this workshop offers a unique and practical learning experience that enables your child to explore their feelings safely and develop coping tools, all within a controlled and nurturing environment. Throughout this workshop, participating children will learn: The role their self-esteem plays in their

thoughts and actions Recognizing their strengths, accepting their

weaknesses Understanding and dealing effectively with

their feelings Recognizing the power of choice, its

consequences, and the different reactions to being bullied

Developing assertion, positive body language and improving communication skills

Techniques to physically defend themselves Mindfulness and self-soothing techniques

This workshop is not about hiding what makes you weak, but tapping into what makes you strong. This workshop is about helping you develop resilience on the inside when your world is crumbling on the outside. This workshop is about finding your value and learning how to stand up for yourself, even if others won’t. Designed by Educational Psychologist, Melina Georgiou, and Professional Fitness and Self-Esteem Coach, Muhammad Zubi, The Couch: Practice of Psychology hosts this two day workshop that aims to empower your child with the practical tools to deal effectively with the painful feelings associated with bullying and provide them with the coping skills necessary to navigate this difficult stage of their lives.
