Worship Service -10 am Sunday School – 11:15 am Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost August 19, 2012 WE APPROACH GOD PRELUDE WELCOME (Psalm 134:1) “Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord.” Welcome as we lift up our hearts to the Creator of us all. *OPENING HYMN “Marvelous Grace of Our Loving Lord” 250 [R] *CALL TO WORSHIP {Psalm 27; John 4:23} Pastor: Let us worship God, our Light and our Salvation. People: The Lord is the stronghold of our lives. Pastor: We desire to live in God’s House and to seek God in His Holy Temple. People: We have come with shouts of joy, to sing and to make music to the Lord. Pastor: Let us worship God in Spirit and in Truth. People: Teach us Your Ways and make straight our paths in this hour of worship and always. *PRAISE HYMN I Hear the Savior Say” 252 [R] PRAYER OF CONFESSION Awesome and Compassionate God, You have loved us with unfailing, self- giving mercy, but we have not loved You. You constantly call us, but we do not listen. You ask us to love, but we walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped in our own concerns. We condone evil, prejudice, warfare, and greed. God of Grace, as You come to us in Mercy, we repent in Spirit and in Truth, admit our sin, and gratefully receive Your forgiveness through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen. Menne, Harry Postin, and Kim Schisler. Remember the people who are in nursing homes

and extended care, especially Janet Cattron. Please pray for the safety and protection of our

Armed Forces, especially for those deployed. Pray for President Obama and especially our

country.
