Liturgies this week

The Rosary The Rosary is prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament Mass, Tuesday. – Saturday., before Mass.

“O Sacred Heart of Jesus I Place My Trust in Thee

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in thee,” Whatever may befall me, Lord, though dark the hour may be. In all my joys, in all my woes, though naught be grief I see. O Sacred heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee.

When those I love have passed away and I am sore distressed, O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I fly to thee for rest. In all my trials, great or small, my confidence shall be, Unshaken, as I cry, dear Lord, I place my trust in Thee.”

This is my own sweet prayer, dear Lord! My faith, my trust, my love, But, most of all, in that last hour, when death points up above, Ah, then, sweet Saviour, may Thy face smile on my soul set free. Oh, may I cry with rapturous love, “I’ve placed my trust in Thee.” Amen

Coins for Life On June 11/12, containers will be available for you to take home after all Masses. Please fill the containers over the summer and return them on Sept. 17/18. Your spare change will help to fuel our efforts on behalf of Life. Please take a container if you would like to participate. Sponsored by Campaign Life Coalition – 389-4472 or 382-1084.

Before Summer, Holidays and CottagesThe regular contributions received through the direct debit program really make a difference to the financial health of the parish. This new initiative has been embraced by an increasing number of our parishioners. If you, too, would like to use the direct debit plan as an option, please pick up the information from the church vestibule or call our parish office for further details. We thank you for your continued support of Our Lady of Lourdes parish.

High Trust VolunteersFor those who volunteer in a High Trust Ministry and have not signed the annual Offence Declaration required to keep your Police Records Check current, please find envelopes with blank forms in the brown box on the table to the left side of the church entrance. Please sign and date the form and return it to the church. You can place it in the collection basket, clearly marked Offence Declaration or give it to a member of the Screening Committee. Thank you.

During the month of June, Neil’s will contribute to the parish building fund ten percent of the sales price of goods bought from them. You have only to mention that you are from Our Lady of Lourdes parish. We are grateful and also proud to work with Neil’s, who feature high quality and lots of variety.

Refugee UpdateGood news! Our application to privately sponsor a Syrian Family has been approved by the Canadian government. The family, presently in legal limbo in Kuwait, will be undergoing final medical and security checks before departing for Canada. It is our hope that we will receive them before the end of the summer. Volunteers

have been working hard on the various committees, but there remain many opportunities to help. If you had signed up but have not heard from the Steering Committee, it may be because your email address was incorrect or you have no email. In either case, please contact Bronek Korczynski (384-2655) for information. If you have pledged or wish to make a donation to the parish’s Refugee Fund, please clearly indicate that it is for that specific collection. This is essential and is required to ensure that the funds are allocated for that purpose. Many thanks for this consideration and for your generous and ongoing support of this important ministry.

Add Your Voice to Canada’s Climate Plan. The Government of Canada is asking Canadians what we want to see in a national climate action plan. This is a concrete opportunity for us to live into God’s call to love and care for the Earth. You can easily submit your ideas using the web-based Climate Consultation Template developed by Citizens for Public Justice. The template contains proposed recommendations and an invitation to reflect on personal connections to climate change. Go to cpj.ca/climate-consultation to be part of the conversation.
