It is a time of shared faith, socializing and friendship with other women in a relaxed, prayerful atmosphere. Magnificat-Central Arkansas will be based in central Arkansas, but is appealing to women throughout the diocese to become involved and enjoy the fruits of serving the Lord in this ministry. Our first meal is scheduled for Saturday, September 28 and there are a variety of ways women can help. All ladies of the diocese are invited to attend the Ministries Planning Meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 7 p.m. This meeting will be in the Parish Office Meeting Room at St. Joseph’s Church in Conway. Some of the ways you can serve the Lord within this ministry to women include: greeters, table hostesses, music, prayer, table décor, PR and ticket sales. Search #131: Registrations are now being accepted for Search #131, a retreat to help juniors and seniors in high school get to know themselves better, deepen their friendship with Christ, and find support in living out their faith. Search #131 will be held at St. John Center, Little Rock, June 28 – 30, 2013. The fee is $110.00 and the early registration deadline is June 21, 2013. For more information and registration forms visit our website at: http://www.dolr.org/offices/youth/documents/search131.pdf or contact Trish Gentry [email protected] at the Diocese of Little Rock Youth Ministry office: 501-664-0340, ext 418.

The Catholic Charities Summer Institute (C²SI) will be held over the dates of July 14-19 at St. John’s Catholic Center in Little Rock. The Institute is intended to educate adults and

high school youth about the social issues of our diocese. The program is designed to make youth aware of the needs in their communities and to assist them in developing their social consciences. It strives to build leaders of our Church who will become part of a Catholic solution to improve the future of their communities and our diocese. Over these days, participants will be involved in classroom interactive learning regarding poverty, homelessness, the elderly, refugees, human trafficking, the protection of the unborn and care for God’s creation. Included in the weekly schedule are hands-on community service opportunities from ministering to the homeless on the street, to caring for the elderly, to meeting the victims of exile. The C²SI program is open to all high school students and participants will receive community service hours for their participation in this program.

NFP (Natural Family Planning) classes are starting almost every month in Northwest Arkansas. Find schedules at the diocesan web site (www.dolr.org) “Marriage and Family” section, “NFP” link (phone: 501-664-0340). The methods of NFP reflect the dignity of the human person within the context of marriage and family life and promote openness to life and the value of the child. NFP classes are now required as part of marriage preparation for all couples in the Diocese, and already married couples are invited and welcome to register for a class series as well. NFP methods can help couples with infertility and women's health issues. Some of these moral methods have a higher success rate than InVitro Fertilization.
