Liturgies this week

Divine Mercy Chaplet (Good Friday – Second Sunday of Easter)

On ordinary rosary beads: “First pray one ‘Our Father’, ‘Hail Mary’, and ‘I believe’.

Then on the large beads pray the following words:

‘Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.’

On the smaller beads pray: ‘For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world.’

In conclusion pray three times: ‘Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world’.

Donations for Easter Flowers and through the year are requested. Envelopes are available in the vestibule and the pews. Your donations will be included on your income tax receipts. Donations may be given in memory of beloved deceased family, friends, or for any other intentions. A list of donors and intentions will be posted in the Easter season.

Needs of the Church in the Holy Land The diocesan collection for Needs of the Church in the Holy Land will be received on Good Friday, March 25.

Corrected Income Tax Receipts – The corrected receipts are available in the church vestibule. Please do not submit to Revenue Canada those already picked up this year. Apparently the last entry, including the final weekend of December, was not recorded because of the widespread Acolyte Program problem. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this error.

Holy Water The ancient and venerable custom of taking Holy Easter water is encouraged and urged. Please remove any Holy Water more than a year old by pouring it into a plant or preferably the earth (not into the sink drain), before Easter. You are invited to bring a small container to take the new Holy Easter water to your home for use in sickness, danger, temptation or sorrow.

CWL Convention – May 14-15Registration packages can be picked up from the tables in the entryway of the Church. Return completed forms and cheque in an envelope marked CWL and place in the collection basket by March 29. All ladies of the CWL are invited to attend

Our Lady of Lourdes School, 20 Cranbrook St., invites all to the school for the Stations of the Cross on Holy Thursday, March 24 from 9:30-11:00 am.

Summer and Fall Excursions Tickets are now on sale for MATILDA THE MUSICAL in Toronto. This is the story of an extraordinary girl, who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. A McCoy’s luxury bus will leave OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH parking lot at 8 AM sharp, on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 and will make stops in Napanee and Belleville. Tickets are $188.50 per person, (Increase is due to higher cost of tickets and food) and include transportation, the play, dinner at Mandarin Restaurant and a $40.00 tax receipt. Tickets are limited and promise to be in great demand, so don’t wait and be disappointed. For tickets call Caroline Manley 542-8473 or Theresa McKay 389-3532. The Chrism Mass in the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy at St. Mary’s Cathedral, on Tuesday, 22 March at 7:30 p.m. The oils used for the Sacramental life of the Church will be blessed by Archbishop O’Brien and distributed to each Parish and Institution in our Archdiocese. A reception will follow at École Cathédrale. All are invited to participate in this special celebration.

Parenting Conference – Empowered to Connect is a bible and research based conference designed to help caregivers parent children from ‘hard places.’ Great for all parents, it has a special focus on parenting adopted or foster children. Held at St. Mary’s Parish Centre, 260 Brock St. on April 8-9 from 10 am – 6pm. Register by March 30. Contact Caitlin at [email protected] or 614-766-1246.

Holy Mass for Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 2 pm, April 3, followed by the blessing of images and the veneration of the relic of St. Faustina. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be sung at 3 pm.

Next Generation Leahy: Doug Leahy, his wife and 6 children will perform at the Neeje Fundraising Dinner on Sat. April 16 at Rideau Acres, 6-10 pm. Their first ever performance in Kingston. Step dancing, fiddling, singing. Tickets $50/person available online March 1 at www.neeje.ca

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish 50th Anniversary. The year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. In order to commemorate this important milestone, the Parish Council of Our Lady of

Lourdes, invites the members of each of the church Ministries, related clubs, councils, and groups, to come together to take part in our new Parish Directory. The Knights of Columbus, who are organizing the Directory, have reserved Tuesday April 5th 2016, after the 7 p.m. Mass, for each of these group photographs to be taken.
