March 15, 2015 - Laetare Sunday Salvation Changes Everything
2 Chron 36:14-16, 19-23 The exiled Israelites are
returned from Babylon to Jerusalem. Psalm 137 The exiled will never forget Jerusalem! Eph 2:4-10 By grace you have been saved. John 3:14-21 God sent his Son, the light, into the world.
In one of Charles Schulz Peanuts cartoons, Snoopy is sitting on the roof of his dog-house, typing a letter that says: Dear God, I just want to say I love you. In another strip, Pep-permint Patty is telling Snoopy her troubles. She laments the horrible week she has just en-
dured and asks him, What do you do when every-thing goes wrong? Snoopys response is to give Patty a big kiss on her cheek. Thats good advice, Patty says. Snoopy reminds us that love is always the best answer for us to give and the one we always hope to receive. Best of all, the one who loves us most is God. -- Dc. Dick Folger
Next Weeks Readings Ezek 37:12-14 God promises a new covenant with Israel. Psalm 130 Create a clean heart in me. Rom 8:8-11 He was made perfect through obedi-ence. John 11:1-45 Jesus predicts his coming death.
Get More Out of Mass - Our Series Continues - We show up to church each Sunday and perform prayers and rituals that many of us have known since childhood. We stand, sit, and kneel. We make the sign of the cross. We recite Holy, Holy, Holy, Lamb of God and Thanks be to God. But what do all these prayers and rituals mean? If you want to really understand the signifi-cance of all that we are saying and doing in the lit-urgy, join us for a video series on Thursday morn-ings at 9:30 a.m. Youll be glad you came!
National Catholic Mission 2015 "Beware the Holy Spirit" will be broadcast on VISIONTV on Monday, March 30 (pt.1) and Tues-day, March 31 (pt. 2) at 6:00 p.m. and repeated at 10:00 p.m. It will be hosted by Fr. Pat Fitzpatrick and features Spiritan Fr. Anthony Gittins.
Holy Week Schedule available for Sign up.
St. Helens Ham Roll will be on Friday March 27th at St. Mark School Gym. Starts at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) Everyone is welcome. If you wish to volunteer or if
have anything youd like to donate for prizes, please contact Martin or Marion at 905-562-9838.
Bishop to Visit St. Helens Bishop Bergie will be visiting St. Helens on Palm Sunday weekend and celebrating all Masses. A small reception will follow the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Mark School. All parishioners are invited to attend.
Sacrament of Penance

No matter how long it has been, you are welcome to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance, and encour-aged to celebrate this wonderful sacrament of rec-onciliation and healing.
Development & Peace Collection This Lent we are being asked to sow seeds of soli-darity with our sisters and brothers in the Global South. This doesnt mean just sharing our material goods with the poorest of the poor, it also means sowing seeds of faith and love within ourselves. Lent is a time to take a look inside ourselves and reflect on our relationships with God and each oth-er. This reflection can be deepened by spending time in prayer and fasting, which assist us in sowing seeds of love and change. A diocesan collection for Development and Peace will be taken up on March 21st/ 22nd. Envelopes available at the en-trance or in your offertory box of envelopes.
World Meeting of Families Philadelphia Sept 22-27, 2015
The Holy Father has invited families from around the world to come and explore the critical role that the family plays in todays society. Participants will also have an opportunity to attend the Papal Mass on September 27th. The Diocese of St. Catharines has arranged 50 travel packages for this event. Registrations will be accepted on a first come basis. Details are available from the parish office or con-tact Franca Lanigan at the Catholic Centre 905-684-0154.
