L A N G D O N is a Buller family name. In choosing this name for our new range of

super premium wines, I pay tribute to my grandfather, Reginald Langdon Buller, founder of

Buller Wines.

Only the best grapes from the best years are used in the making of the new

Langdon range. As grapes of sufficiently high quality are often only

available in small batches, production will always be limited.

This traditional blend is made up of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13%

Merlot, both from the King Valley, and 6% Petit Verdot from the Swan

Hill Winegrowing Region.

C E L L A R I N G R E C O M M E N D A T I O N S

While drinking beautifully on release (October 2010) this wine will repay

cellaring to 2025 and beyond.

T A S T I N G N O T E S

Colour/appearance Dark, dense ruby progressing to dark cherry purple

on rim and swirl. Slow tears.

Aroma/bouquet Pronounced complex cassis and mocha, toasty

maraschino and lingering sweet clove.

Palate Supple, seamless fruit basket of blackcurrant, plum

T H E B E V E R F O R D R A N G E of red and white varietal table wines

takes its name from the sleepy hamlet of the same name in the heart of the Swan Hill

Winegrowing Region.

Beverford is the location of our winery, established in 1952.

The fruit to make this wine was sourced from the same vineyard that

produced the multi award winning 2006 vintage.

Ideal slow spring onset was followed by a warm March, finishing with a

wet April. These were ideal conditions for encouraging a good natural

development of botrytis – essential in making this style.

C E L L A R I N G R E C O M M E N D A T I O N S

Released November 2010. Will continue to mature in bottle for 5-7 years.

T A S T I N G N O T E S

Colour/appearance Brilliant gold. ‘Legs’ indicate viscosity.

Aroma/bouquet Pronounced apricot and nectarine aromas

intertwined with a hazelnut and dusty cinnamon

nuance.

Palate Full bodied lush flavours of apricot and lemon rind

lime acidity gains greater momentum on the palate

throughout the long clean finish.

range of premium table wines which are sourced from Victoria's King Valley.

W I N E M A K E R S C O M M E N T S

The picturesque King Valley on the lower slopes of Victoria's Alps is

recognised for producing wines of high quality and finesse. In

terms of Australian winemaking history the King Valley is a

relatively new region, although vines have been grown in the valley

since early settlement. The elevation, climate and soils of the

region contribute to the production of wines with a degree of

elegance which is one of the characteristics of cool climate wines.

FOOD SUGGESTIONS: This wine is an ideal partner for most

red meat dishes, particularly lamb and venison.

This is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot from

two elevated sites in the King Valley Winegrowing Region.

Each batch was fermented separately, blended, then put through

prior to bottling.

Sauvignon Blanc is one of the nine recognised ‘classic’ grape

varieties and the cool climate of Victoria’s King Valley is an ideal

place to grow it. The moderate Autumn temperatures of the region

ripen the grapes slowly and maximise the typical flavours of

tropical fruits and that distinct touch of gooseberry tartness.

FOOD SUGGESTIONS: A perfect ‘stand alone’ wine, or partner

for hors d’oeuvre, seafood and creamy pasta dishes.

The saying “good wines are made in the vineyard” is probably truer of

Cabernet Sauvignon than any other grape variety.

Of all the varieties, Cabernet grapes need to be fully ripened in order to

produce the range and depth of flavours that this variety is capable of.

The 2008 vintage gave us excellent quality fruit and I am very happy

with the end result.

As with recent releases of Beverford Chardonnay, this 2009 vintage

shows some oak influence supporting the generous fruit flavours that

are typical of Chardonnay.

product will prove popular with previous buyers of this wine.

The combination of cool climate characteristics from the King Valley and the

Our Moscato Rosso is a less ‘grapey’ Moscato style focussing more on

earlier harvested fruit qualities delivering a fresher fragrant aspect while not

overtly aromatic. The grapes were harvested at optimum sugar to acid
