Welcome to the Wicks cattle 14th annual sale. We would like to thank you for your past support and continued interest in our program. We are honored to be in the cattle business and meeting your seed stock needs. As we are writing this, we are realizing it has been quite a year in regard to the market and the weather. Who would have thought that an over-abundance of rain would cause so many challenges for all of us. The calves weaned off exceptionally heavy and we are grateful for fresh water and green grass.

As the ag industry holds many challenges for the cattle people, it is our goal as seed stock producers to make the best product available for your considera-tion. As the market reports show they are wanting heavier calves, the power of heterosis and cross breeding can help you achieve that by adding SimAngusTM to your program or supplementing your current SimAngusTM herd. In this years’ offering there will be 50 black bulls and 10 red bulls for your appraisal. There will also be approximately 40 SimAngusTM open heifers that are sister mates to the bull offering. These heifers have been bangs vaccinated, preg checked and given PregGaurd.

All cattle are tested for coat color. Hair was pulled on all the cows. ALL WIX CATTLE ARE HOMOZYGOUS BLACK UNLESS STAT-ED OTHERWISE. Date EPD’s were pulled from the American Simmental Association website on 12/12/2019.

GUARANTEE: bulls that sell for $3000 or more are guaranteed against any injury for the first breeding season (September 1, 2020). If a problem occurs contact Wicks cattle immediately and a replacement will be furnished if available. All claims must be submitted September 1, 2020. Bulls will be semen checked prior to delivery, April 1, 2020. This guarantee is null and void if injury/death is sustained due to negligence under the new owner’s care. BRAND INSPECTION: A brand inspector will be available on Sale Day.

RETAINED SEMEN INTEREST: Wicks Cattle is retaining 1/3 interest share in every bull selling in this sale. Full possession and full salvage value sell with the bull.

These heifers are sister mates to the bull sale offering. The heifers were worked on 12-23-19. They were preg. checked and bangs vaccinated. They also had their preg. guard shot. These heifers are ready to breed when the time comes. All the work is done. The average weight on the heifers was 724 pounds on 12-23-19. The heif-ers were running out on cover crop and millet fields with no grain. They aren’t pampered or pushed. They have been penned up in the feedlot since 12-24-19 being fed hay and eight pounds of grain daily.
