In brief

THE PR

OBLEM

•Market is demanding toreduce acquisition andmaintenance cost for thetraining devices.

• Simulators Manufacturersand integrators are havingmany problems to meetmarket demand, evenwhen they try to use COTSin a massive way.

•A great challenge is in themarket: demand fortraining devices is growingbut demanding best pricesthat cannot be meet byproviders.

THE SO

LUTION

• Instead of building yoursimulator, integrate it byusing a common simulationplatform.

•Be focused in deliver theright training solution notin how to technically buildthe simulator.

• Improve your time tomarket and reduce yourdevelopment costs byimproving reusability andcomposability.

•Assure an affordable Costof maintenance by using afuture‐proof architecture.

CASE IN

POINT • Simware has been used as

the simulation platform forthe development ofJAR/FAR certified trainingdevices.

• Simware provides anintegration platform tobuild the training device asa composition of COTSalready available in themarket, thus reducing thenecessity of newdevelopments.

The challenge: how to build a training device starting with many COTS

SimulationModels

ImageGenerator

Avionics and instruments

Building a simulator using COTSand reusing other componentsdeveloped previously in theorganization is not an easy task.

Building a simulator fromdifferent components requiresmanaging many differentprotocols, APIs and architectures

Without a common platform, integration can be a realnightmare, compromisingdeadlines and the budget.

Advantages of using a Data‐Centric Simulation Platform

Allows to define and maintain a common data model and Data Exchange Mechanisms between heterogeneous software components

Uncouples the architecture of the simulator

Allows a better management of the qualities of service (QoS) for data exchanging

Allows the physical distribution of the software components in different machines anytime

Encapsulates standards compliance inside the middleware
