Session Outcomes
● Participants will understand how the Innovation work as a part of the Building for Student Success (Bond Program) supports the implementation of our new strategic plan, The Success Effect.
● Participants will learn about BVSD’s Exemplar Schools as designed in partnership with Fielding Nair International. The four new buildings showcase innovative design throughout the buildings.
● Participants will learn about the process that BVSD has created to support our schools with their Innovation Funds. These funds were allocated to every school in BVSD to create an innovative space that supports the mission and vision of our strategic plan, The Success Effect, and our Innovation Guiding Principles.
About BVSD● 56 Schools over 500 Square Miles
○ Mountain Schools, 1 room school houses to large (2200 students), comprehensive high schools
○ Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Broomfield, Erie and Nederland (and mountain schools)
● Approximately 30,000 students
● Diversity : FRL and Students of Color = about 20%, ELL = 20%
● Supportive and engaged community○ Passed the largest bond in CO state history in 2014 at $576 million dollars○ University of Colorado - Boulder○ Many entrepreneurial businesses, tech business, focus on sustainability and environment
