Winter Kickoff Event:
“Zombie Apocalypse-Nerf Wars”
Tuesday, January 7th 4:00-6:00pm
Zombies are taking over the Y. Help by joining in the fun
as we take them out game by game. Bring your own Nerf
gun if you have one; we’ll supply the ammunition. No
worries if you don’t come armed, we’ll make sure you
can defend yourself. Please RSVP to 263.9996 by
Monday, January 6th, so we have enough supplies and
snacks!

Variety Arts
Mondays 4:00-5:00pm
The Arts are a way to express who you are and show
the world what you are about. Learn and share with a
different art form each week. Crafts, painting, clay and
just plain fun! Starts Jan. 6th
Fee: This event is FREE to members and nonmembers and is open to all youth in 5th –8th grades.
Card Club
Mondays 5:00-6:30pm
This is not your mother’s card
club, that’s for sure. Join other
card enthusiasts and staff each
week for games of Yu-Gi-Oh,
Pokemon and Magic of The
Gathering. Learn new games
and the rules of the games.
Starts Jan. 6th

FearlesslyGirl Club
Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm
Be part of a Kinder World… our
FearlesslyGirl Club is a safe place to come
together, share stories, discuss important
topics, get advice and make friends. Goals
are to unite girls across the country and
around the world, inspire authentic
confidence and support one another to be
kinder to ourselves and each other. This
program was developed by Kate Whitfield,
who needed a space to share and talk! It is
endorsed worldwide by Professional Tennis
Player, Madison Keys, who is from the Quad
Cities. Starts Jan. 14th
Fee: This event is FREE to members and nonmembers and is open to girls in 6th–8th grades.
Guy Thing
Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm
Join the Y for some good old-
fashioned “Guy Time”, where we will be
doing guy things...games, recreation,
career building, teambuilding, cooking,
RC Racing and so much more. Your
mission is to forge through the unknown bumps of
life...fighting through with mental awareness, to navigate
fitness, money management, creative thinking, career
exploration and any challenges that might get in your
way. Are you mission ready? Starts Jan. 14th

Cooking Club
Wednesdays 4:00-5:15pm
Healthy eating can be as easy
as 1,2,3! Cooking is fun and
a life-long skill. Learn to cut
and prepare fruits and
veggies and use the stovetop
and oven in a safe and fun
atmosphere. Cooking Club will
run March 4th -April 8th. Must pre-register.
Fee: Member $20.00 Nonmember $40.00 This event is for youth in 5th–8th grades.
Science Battles
Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are
for everyone! Join the fun with experiments, games,
hands on activities and fun challenges. Starts Jan. 8th

This educational class is designed to
teach beginner level magic tricks
and how to perform them for an
audience. Students will receive
specialized instruction from local
professional magician, David Casas.

Join the Y Teen Staff for a ride complete with fun
music, high energy and a great workout. Starts

Teen Only Fitness
Thursdays 4:00-4:45pm
The weight room and fitness classes can
be intimidating for Middle School youth
with all those adults around, so we
developed a class just for you! Join us for
a strength training or cardio class each
week. Feel safe and confident working out
in a social setting. Starts Jan. 9th
Fee: This event is FREE to members and nonmembers and is open to all youth in 5th–8th grades.

6th-8th grade students learn how to
safely use the weights and other
equipment in42.5+6.5+7.5
the exercise area. Those who pass this
class will be able to use the exercise area
during designated youth times and any
time under the supervision of a parent or
guardian. Attendance is required during
the 6 week session.
