Following a 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, goaltender Robin Lehner unloaded on his teammates in his post game comments. The teams were tied 2-2 after one period but the game was lost when the Sabres surrendered a pair of goals in the second, continuing a season long trend of poor second period play. Second periods involve the longer distance to the bench from the defensive zone making it harder to change your defensemen and left winger on the far boards. A lack of hustle on these line changes from several Sabres players has been obvious along with extended shifts which keeps tired players on the ice too long. Deep shoot ins are im-portant in the middle pe-riod because it allows your players enough time to get to the bench and for their replacements to get into the play while their op-ponent retrieves the puck and moves back up the ice. Against the Canucks some poor entry decisions by Jack Eichel caused turnovers putting undue stress on the team late in the second period. The Ca-

nucks ended up taking the last 14 shots of the period in only five minutes, scor-ing twice to secure the vic-tory. Lehner called for his teammates to follow the structure set forth by the coach which involves chipping the puck in deep during the second period and making responsible line changes. His point is well taken. The Sabres second period goal differ-ential this season is an abysmal -20 as compared to a decent +3 in first pe-riods and +2 in third peri-ods. Perhaps some players were living in the recent past with visions of Satur-day night‘s victory in To-ronto fresh in their mem-ories. The Sabres had an

impressive 2-0 lead before the Leafs even had a shot on goal. But they still sur-rendered 44 shots on goal while taking only 23 with Lehner putting in a near flawless performance sur-rendering only one flukey goal in their 3-1 win at the air Canada Center. The pattern of contin-ued Monday night in Ot-tawa with the Sabres sur-rendering 14 shots in the final eight minutes of the second period and surren-dering a single goal to trail 2-1 at the horn. The team rallied with two third peri-od goals for a 3-2 win with Robin Lehner stopping 39 of 41 shots. Lehner has asserted his role as the teams start-ing goalie with his strong play. His save percentage ranks seventh in the NHL and he is the only Sabre among the league leaders in any meaningful catego-ry. So he has earned the right to speak out and and accordingly is taking on a leadership role. Hopefully his teammates will ral-ly to the cause with their effort and not just their mouths.

DAWSON

716-851-5694

This Week’s Featured Friend:

How can you not love that cute, goofy, lovable, happy face? Say hello to Dawson! This young lad is a true character that is patiently waiting for a home of his own. Dawson is still young, so of course he has some enthusiastic energy. But, with good walks, play time outside, and some training, Daw-son will settle right down. He really enjoys meeting people and has done well in the yard with some play buddies. He can be choosy about his playmates so it is important that he meets any resident dogs prior to adoption to make sure that everyone wants to be friends. Dawson loves his toys and is a curious guy that likes to explore. We have found that Dawson does appear to do well with small dogs or kitties. He really loves to be outdoors; and, when the weather is fairer, you can often see him in his typical frog legged position lounging in the sunshine. Our dedicated volunteers have put a lot of love and time into helping to polish Dawson’s rough edges through training. We really would love for Dawson to find a home that will continue to teach him how to be a well mannered canine citizen. He is sure to become a cherished companion for a special someone. Dawson comes with a reduced adoption fee and is also sponsored by Pound Hounds & Friends for help with training classes!! No better way to develop a bond than with good ole fashioned training.

PRAYER TO ST. JUDE Most holy apostle St. Jude Thaddeus faith-ful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master in to the hands of the enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so needy; make use, I implore you of that particular privilege accorded to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings particularly (here mention your petition) ... and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O blessed Jude to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. HOMEOWERS IN FORECLOSURE New York State requires that we send you this notice about the foreclosure process. Please read it carefully.SUMMONS AND COMPLAINT You are in danger of losing your home. If you fail to respond to the summons and complaint in this foreclosure action, you may lose your home. Please read the

summons and complaint carefully. You should immediately contact an attorney or your local legal aid office to obtain advice on how to protect yourself. SOURCES OF INFORMATION AND ASSIS-TANCE. The State encourages you to become informed about your options in foreclosure. In addition to seeking assistance from an attorney or legal aid, there are government agencies, and non-profit organizations that you may contact for information about possible options, including trying to work with our lender during this process. To locate an entity near you, you may call the toll-free helpline

maintained by New York State Banking Department at 1-877-Bank-NYS or visit the Department`s website at www.banking.state.ny.us FORECLOSURE RESCUE SCAMSBe careful of people who approach you with offers to “save” your home. There are individuals who watch for notices of foreclosure actions in order to unfairly profit from a homeowner’s distress. You should be extremely careful about any such promises and any suggestions that you pay them a fee or sign over your deed. State law requires anyone offering such services for profit to enter into a con-

tract which fully describes the services they will perform and fees they will charge, and which prohibits them from taking any money from you until they have completed all such promised services.Section 1303 NOTICE YOU ARE IN DANGER OF LOSING YOUR HOME If you do not respond to this summons and complaint by serving the copy of the answer on the attorney for the mortgage

company who filed this foreclosure proceeding against you and filing the answer with the court, a default judgment may be entered and you may lose your home. Speak to an attorney or go to the court where your case is pending for further information on how to answer the summons and protect your property. Sending a payment to your mortgage company will not stop this foreclosure action.

YOU MUST RESPOND BY SERVING A COPY OF THE ANSWER ON THE ATTORNEY FOR THE PLAINTIFF MORTGAGE COMPANY AND FILING AN ANSWER WITH THE COURT. Leo-pold & Associates, PLLC, 80 Business Park Drive, Suite 110, Armonk, NY 10504.
