Great Presentation by Dr. Campbell at the Vanoni Ranch!
On Sat, July 27 Buenaventura Dog Training Club kicked off our summer events with Orthopedic Challenges in Dog Training by Dr. Courtney Campbell.
We had over 20 enthusiastic club members and guests attend the presentation and generously donate to the Morris Ani-mal Foundation.
As Dr. Campbell said, It's so much better up close and personal. Volunteer dogs Tempo and Sundae truly stole the show. Tempo was a total ham and I think he is knows how to play to the crowd.”
We are lucky to have such an experienced veterinarian in our community. Dr. Campbell joined VetSurg in May of 2017 bringing with him strong surgical experience in minimally in-vasive orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He became a Board-Certified Surgeon in March 2019. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Campbell enjoys the research aspects of veterinary medicine. He has published a landmark study on patella luxation and concurrent cruciate ligament ruptures along with several articles in Pulse magazine, a peer-reviewed publication of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association.
Although BTDC was honored to have Dr. Campbell present to our club members, we were surprised that he later sent an email thanking us! Dr. Campbell said, “I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to speak at the BDTC. I didn't anticipate the level of the warmth and the sincerity of the welcome that I received from the group. I will share the great word about your club. And please pass along my gratitude to all of your club members.”
A huge thank you to Julie Vanoni for hosting us at her fabu-lous ranch! As Dr. Campbell remarked, “My favorite aspect was the intimate setting that we had. The ranch was a beauti-ful property and it was my first experience in Somis.”
The following is an email from Dr. Campbell to Julie Vanoni, who coordinated with Dr. Campbell on the
recent Seminar.

Hi Ms. Julie,
I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to speak at the BDTC. The ranch
was a beautiful property and it was my first experience in Somis. I didn't anticipate the level of the
warmth and the sincerity of the welcome that I received from the group.
My favorite aspect was the intimate setting that we had. It's so much better up close and personal. Sorry I
didn't ask you beforehand about audio/visuals but it turns out we didn't need Wi-Fi or a projector.
Tempo truly stole the show.
He was a total ham and I think he is knows how to play to the crowd. Optimistically, it may have been bet-
ter without projected slides. Seeing an exam in real time can be a more powerful example of what condi-
tions to look for.
The gifts were completely unexpected and so humbling. Thank you for the t- shirt, the sweatshirt, the
card, and the dinner to Wood Ranch. I haven't figured out who I am going to take with me but whoever it
is they will know what a great club BDTC is.
That was so generous of you.
I will look forward to seeing some great pictures and we will share the great word about your club on any
platform that we have access to. Thanks again for the invitation and I appreciate how hospitable you
have been. Any time you need any thing please know that I am here for you and your team. Thanks for
being so gracious.
And please pass along my gratitude to all of your club members.
Have a great week!
Cheers,
Courtney Campbell
