INTRODUCTION
Dear participants,
we present to you the info-pack for upcoming youth exchange in Czech republic, which should help you
clarify what will be the event about. Please read the information carefully so you don't catch yourself
during the project asking yourself – What I'm doing here? In the following pages you will find
information about the main activities, venue and also this document can help you how to prepare to
this youth exchange.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Back to Reality is a youth exchnge developed by group of youngsters on the topic of promoting active
citizenship among youngsters in Europe for participants from 18 to 25 years old who want to learn
more about active citizenship, opportunities which are offered to them by European Union and who
want to gain basics of video making (script writing, video shooting, post-production etc.). In our opinion
youngsters nowadays tend to be lax about their lifestyle and things happening around them. We'd like
to change that by using creativity of participants to create short awareness raising spots, which will be
the key task for the participants. The aim of this project is to raise active citizenship (healthy lifestyle,
etc.) among youngsters in Europe (as well as among participants) throughout awareness raising spots.
In the first part of this project participants will discuss bad habits of todays youngsters, ways how to
make active citizenship atractive for todays youngsters and will also get to know the possibilities
which European Union is offering to them, so that they can promote these possibilities in their videos
as well.
Second part of this project will be mainly focused on workshops on video making, to gain the needed
knowledge to project their main ideas into the final product. After these workshops and after
agreeing which sub-topics are most relevant to our main topic (participants will discuss about
different kind of sub-topics in the first part of this project, such as bad habits of youngsters, drug
usage among youngsters, promoting healthy lifestyle, promoting active citizenship, alcohol abuse,
opportunities offered by EU, etc.), participants will be devided into 5 different international teams
and each team will pick one sub-topic, for which they will create short movie.

After all movies are done, we will upload them on the internet and discuss with participants
possibilities how to make their awareness spots visible, how to promote them and how to get as
many youngsters as possible to see their short spots (such us guerilla marketing, trying to make these
videos go viral through social medias, etc.), so that these videos find their way to european
youngsters and so that the messages participants want to share with others reach as many people as
possible.
During this project we'll use different kinds of Non Formal methods of learning. Participants will have
the chance to present their personal views on the topic and share with everyone how they think this
topic is affecting youngsters in their country or hometown. All this will be made through different
kind of activities, such as discussion, simulation or role-play. Each day will be based on active work of
participants, who will create the programme together with the help of their national leaders. The
official language of the project is English.
