BTM Global controller provides battery health relateddata not only locally (in the battery or control room), butalso globally to specified locations, such as a centralmonitoring station, or even to unspecified locations ondemand via Internet connectivity.

The system is also capable of utilizing variouscommunication links such as E-mail, Voice, and Pagermessages, for announcing critical conditions in thebattery room to the personnel responsible for takingcorrective action when necessary.

The system report engine was designed with proactivemaintenance programs in mind. The main goal of thereporting system is to provide the Maintenance Groupwith supportive information about the batteries betweenmaintenance intervals, such as floating conditions,number and durations of discharges, recharges, orlong-term trends indicating the rate of battery aging.

The data is presented in 3 levels. The first contains theprimary data (e.g., voltages, current, float-current, AC-ripple, ambient and pilot temperatures).

The second level contains the calculated and predicteddata (e.g., battery internal resistance, intercell strapresistance, battery float index, discharge / chargeresponses and predicted capacity).

The final level contains the trending data (e.g., floatingvoltage and current abnormalities, internal resistance ofthe jar, individual cells discharge and charge response

and their trends over time).

Data can be collected over the Internet (in HTMLformat) allowing the Maintenance Group to plancorrective actions before visiting a site. Overall, higherreliability in backup power is provided with less time,and with multiple site installations, managementbecomes significantly easier.
