4.2 – Structure of an E-Commerce Site

There are 3 main points to consider when looking at how to structure a website:•Customer Interface – this is the 1st point of contact the User will have with the online business. If customers cannot use it easily, they will shop elsewhere. A web designer must consider whom the customers are? Very often ‘cookies’ are used to help make the Users experience more personal.

4.2 – Structure of an E-Commerce Site

•Image – designers need to take care with the business’s image, name and brand reputation. This is especially important now due to the increase in vocal community tweeters, bloggers and social media users that may make comments about the business.•Style – an e-commerce site is an extension of the business. So designs, logos, colour schemes and fonts are important for appearance and recognition by customers.
