BTGraphics: Yan Hao BTPhoto: Kelvin Chng BT Infographics FAST and efficient Changi Airport Terminal 4 was announced in March 2012 to cater to growing air traffic. It was decided that the former budget terminal would make way for it. The new terminal, which has an annual handling capacity of 16 million passengers, will serve both full-service and low-cost carriers. Passengers will be greeted by the fun and vibrant design. The petal motif, which is reflected across the terminal, is inspired by orchid flowers. 1 Passengers will be able to use a range of self service options. The FAST (Fast and Seamless Travel) initiatives will make it more convenient for passengers while boosting efficiency. 2 A massive 70 metre by 5 metre LED wall entertains passengers who are waiting in line at the security screening section.The images displayed will be the Singapore skyline and regional landmarks or a whimsical animation clip. 3 Kinetic structures such as the Petalclouds will be a fixture along with sculptures from renowned artists. Other art pieces include Hey Ah Chek! and the Travelling Family. 4 Inspired by local Peranakan culture, the Heritage Zone will offer traditional brands.
