Goals*
1. Replace “Stopping the School to Prison Pipeline” with school to life success path.
2. Support racial healing of and traumatic wounds experienced by youth/young adults of color so they are able to believe in themselves and feel supported by a loving community.

What makes the STOPPING THE SCHOOL-TO-PRISON PIPELINE Strategy unique?Guiding Principles1. Prioritize voices and choices of communities most affected and solicit their
support to change widespread and structural inequities.2. Improve our partners’ organizational and staff capacity (e.g., leadership
development) to serve youth/young adults.3. Invest in culturally relevant, reflective, responsive, and creative programs that build
on the strengths and experiences of youth/young adults, community partners, and residents.
4. Build upon restorative, healing practices and comprehensive approaches in consultation with youth/young adults, families, and credible messengers or other concerned adults across our County.
5. Increase youth/young adults’ positive cultural identity, self-worth, and leadership skills.
6. Create trusting relationships and partnerships with community members to further develop school-to-life success path.
FUNDING SPECIFICS
• We expect to fund at a range of levels up to $400K for up to 18 months (Jan. 2018 – June 2019)
• Funding beyond the first 18 months will depend on King County Budget approval and program performance
• Because we don’t know how many applications and for what amounts we do not know how many organizations will be funded

An evaluation plan is not required as part of your proposal. BSK will partner with funded organization to develop one.
Where feasible, BSK will coordinate with other data collection.
