PERSISTENCE — DID YOU KNOW… 90% of BRYC graduates, or "College Fellows," attend or have graduated from college. In comparison, only 11% of low- income, first generation students nationally obtain a bachelor’s degree within six years of matriculation (Engle & Tinto, 2008).

Human Error Honesty Issues Work Overload or Fatigue Information System Opportunity added Business Value (streamline processes, reduce errors, reduce time) A strategic system that will save unnecessary time manually entering student academic data, including grades and progress reports eliminates the manual process of collecting and entering grades by hand -BRYC fellows and staff. Initial design is complete, and the LSU ISDS department will continue to work with BRYC to further develop and implement the grade collection and reporting system. Business Value of Data Collection Automated system will send a request viato each individual fellows teacher(s) every three weeks. Teachers will enter grades and a brief comment which will be transmitted to BRYC staff & mentors. Student GradesStudent Grades Teachers will click on the link in theand fill out the survey. A reminderwill be sent if originalis not responded to within 48 hours Grade Notification & Data Collection Survey will be filled out by the teacher containing the fellows current grades along with a brief status comment Once the survey is completed and submitted, it will automatically be stored in google forms Survey Upload Grade Notification & Data Collection BRYC acquired 32 Dell Latitude Laptops ISDS class conducted 2 installation sessions on Sunday evenings Upgraded laptops to Windows 10 Enterprise Installed Microsoft Office 2016 and Google Chrome Resolved technical issues with non- functioning laptops BRYC Laptop Software Installation Preparation of instructions guide for future software upgrades Created copies of software on DVD-R discs for easy installation Researched parental control options and instructions that can be configured by BRYC staff BRYC Laptop Software Installation Completed research on redesign of BRYCs current website Provided support and assistance with current website needs Identified requirements, feasibility and formulated recommendations for future class to complete the website project Business Value of Website Redesign BRYC s Current Website BRYCs Desired Website Website Redesign Process & Preparation Meet with Chris Parks and Sycamore Representative to solidify data integration resources and discuss in-depth utilization of Sycamores full data collection capabilities Create a finite timeline for implementing the redesigned website using WordPress.
