Hey Folks,

As you know, our "Goody Bags," given to each participant at our Annual show are among

the best stocked of just about any show on the entire Treasure Coast. We are well known for

them!

But, this year I've noticed that some vendors are cutting back, so I could use a little help from

each of you. Try asking your local car parts store, dentist, realtor, favorite restaurant owner,

bakery, grocery, or drug store to help out with some promotional items to advertise their

business for FREE at our Annual River Cruise-In Corvette Show this year.

We plan to make 150 goody bags. Advise them that it's a great way to advertise! Pens, pencils,

calendars, stickers, hard candy, wrapped mints, towelette wipes, discount coupons and gift

certificates make nice items for the bags. Also, a portion of the car show proceeds goes to benefit

Treasure Coast Food Bank, Hope Center for Autism and the Martin County Council of Aging.

OR, stop by Sam's and get a box of hand wipes, individual sanitizers, packs of gum or candy

and donate it to your club. Every little bit helps, but try for quantities of 100-150, so we can put

them in all bags. Also, and it is always a challenge, we try to supply EVERY entrant with a

"DOOR PRIZE" like car wax, car cleaning supplies, window cleaner, mini flashlights, key

fobs, small gift cards and other items of nominal value but too big for a Goody Bag.

Your local auto supply store may be willing to give you some discontinued auto care products

that we can use, or if you have an old gift card you don't expect to use, toss it in the pot! If any

of the places you frequent do not have promotional items, ask them for a small gift certificate

toward a purchase. Just a few such items from each of you will really make a difference. You

never know unless you ask! Take a show flyer with you to help introduce yourself and the show.

(flyer is on next page)

Feel free to drop off any treasures with one of your nearby Board members, at Nightrider, or

any SCC event or mail them directly to me at Al DeLong, 1728 SW Mockingbird Dr. Port St.

Lucie, 34986.

Did you know that Corvettes some 50 years ago adopted the Fuel Injection system? In 1982 they introduced Electronic Fuel Injection with the Cross-Fire Injection system. Then Tuned Port Injection was introduced in 1985. In 1994 they used Sequential Fuel Injection system which lasted for 20 years. As of today they are still improving this Injection system. For optimal performance, when you are purchasing fuel injectors make sure you replace them with the proper specification for your particular year and model.

Nick Vincenzo and Dick Kesler were two of 284 cars at the March 6th Coconut Creek

show sponsored by Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet. Perfect weather, free burgers, hotdogs and

drinks all day, and lots of high dollar cars made it a fun show. Corvettes were divided

into the "seven generation" classes, C-1 to C-7, and most classes were awarded 6-9

trophies, depending on the number of cars in each class. Club participation awards went

to the Renegades and Stingrays. Dave's 53, number 239 of 300 hand built first year

Corvettes was on display in the showroom and it was the star of the show. You can see

this very rare Corvette at our April 24th show. ******************************************************************************************

February Event #2

Special thanks to Karen and Dave Yager and David Leisey for putting on the road rally on Sunday the 28th. The drive was about 75 miles long and it took about 1-1/2 hours. The rally was a timed event so you had to get as close to the specified time as possible. We only had 12 corvettes show up which was a little disappointing since this event was time consuming to put together. First place winners were Anne and Tom wood, 2nd place winners were Helen and Dan Kikkert and 3rd place winners were Wilma and Scott Gebhard. Submitted by Dan Kikkert

AUTOGEEK'S SUNDAY WAS A FUNDAY An early morning rain didn't dampen the spirits of 17 hearty Stuart Corvette Club

car guys. On Sunday March 20th, we did a short caravan to the AutoGeek Detail

Fest. The steady rain at 8:00 AM made for a wet start to an otherwise fun day at

the local Internet car care products establishment. On arriving, everyone received a

generous bucket full of car care samples. The rain ended about 10:30 and the rest of

the day was filled with ''car talk,'' cars, good food and drink and Velocity channel

celebrities. Tom Wood and Martin Dipper Jr. were trophy winners!

Congratulations guys, and thanks to everyone who braved the wet weather

to support our great club and a great local vendor's show.

Brunch with Barry

This month we cruised up to Fellsmere and dined at the Marsh Landing Restaurant.

Although we have been to the restaurant before, it is always good to come back and see

all the stuffed animals that have been taken from the ranches around the town. If you

haven't never been there, it is a nice place to go for a little ride on your own. Also, on

Thursday night they have local bluegrass players come in and entertain. I suggest that you

call ahead for reservations. During this trip I had 23 members and guests join me.

However when we sat down to eat, only one waitress came out to serve us. This resulted

in some of the members being served cold food. When I brought this to the attention on

the manager, he apologized and said the he had staff not show up that morning. That is

three out of the last five BwB's that I faced the same problem. My luck has to change

sometime.

Until next time, shine them up and let’s get on the road.
