American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) New Journal Task Force. I was invited to serve on this task force to explore the possibilities, challenges and issues of developing a new journal in physical therapy and rehabilitation focused on the humanities, 2014 StrokeNet Ethics Committee for Competing Clinical Trials, National Institutes of Health. The purpose of this committee is to develop a uniform policy to guide researchers for fair and ethical patient enrollment in competing stroke trials in a single institution. 2014 – present American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) Education Research Task Force. I was invited to serve on this task force to advise the Foundation of Physical Therapy in establishing an education research agenda, 2015 Critical Physiotherapy Network (CPN). I was invited to be a founding member of the CPN. The CPN is an international network and society of physiotherapists who have interest and do teaching and scholarship in the humanities including, philosophy, history, linguistics, cultural studies, sociology, and anthropology, and explore how ideas from these disciplines affect and impact the care of physical therapy. Currently CPN has grown to over 200 members in 20 countries.

I was consulted by Western Schools to develop a home program for physical therapists to obtain continuing education units in ethics. Ethics Issues and Decision Making in Physical Therapy. Home Study Course. GSC Home Study Courses and Western Schools. In Press. Disability Rehabilitation Research Project (DRRP) on Stroke and Spinal Cord Injury: Algorithmic Decision-making Elicits Progression of Treatment. The project group consists of international experts in stroke rehabilitation from the American Society of Neurorehabilitation and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. Grant Application. I was invited to participate in this project based on my expertise in qualitative research. Specifically, I will consult to develop a qualitative arm to evaluate the implementation of the mobile app for this DRPP. American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). My scholarship focuses on strategies to enhance patient - centered care approaches. Specifically, I have developed an ethics of care based on phenomenology that contains practical steps to help clinicians to understand the values and concerns of a patient living with disabilities as those values emerge and change over time. I am currently exploring and integrating the use of narrative to promote reflection and reflexivity for learning in practice.
