Please follow the guidance for the browser you are choosing to ensure you are using a compatible version and you have the correct settings applied:

How do I check whether Java Script is enabled?
To check whether JavaScript is enabled or to enable it on your browser you'll need to check/adjust your browser settings. The steps to do this will differ
depending on your browser.
• Internet Explorer
• Google Chrome
• Microsoft Edge
• Firefox
• Safari

Internet Explorer
How can I check which version of my web browser I am using?

Step 1: Open Internet Explorer and select
'Help' or press Alt + H.
Step 2: From the drop down menu select
'About Internet Explorer'. You'll then see a
pop-up box showing the version of Internet
Explorer you're using.
Step 3: Click close.

I have a Compatible version – How to check if the required TLS settings are applied?
Step 1: Open Internet Explorer and select ‘Tools' (this may be
shown as a cog icon in the top right corner as shown).
Step 2: From the drop down menu select 'Internet Options'.
Step 3: Click the ‘Advanced’ Tab.
Step 4: Scroll down towards the bottom, to the
‘Security’ section.
The latest versions of most browsers automatically have TLS 1.2 enabled but if you are using Internet Explorer 10, you will need to enable this
manually following the steps below:

Step 5: Here you’ll find the ‘Use TLS 1.2’ box. Make sure this box is ticked.
Step 6: Once you’ve ticked this, click ‘Apply’.
Step 7: Then click ‘OK’ to save the changes. If the box was already ticked just click ‘OK’.
Note: If the tick options have been greyed out this means that you may need administration rights on your
device or network to apply changes to advanced settings. If you can't enable this feature, please refer to your
IT support team for assistance.

Google Chrome
How can I check which version of my web browser I am using?
Step 1: Launch Google Chrome and click on
the icon in the upper right corner that looks like
3 short bars.
Step 2: Select About Google Chrome to
display the version number.
Step 3: You'll then see a pop-up box showing
the version of Google Chrome you're using.
This needs to be version 56 or later.

Step 4: If the version is not up to date, click
the ‘Relaunch’ button to upgrade your browser
to ensure Google Chrome is up to date. The
latest versions of most browsers automatically
have TLS1.2 enabled.
The Update screen may look different to the one in the screenshot.

How can I check if TLS 1.2 is enabled?
Step 1: Launch Google Chrome and click on
the icon in the upper right corner that looks like

Step 3: Scroll down to the System section and
click on ‘Open proxy settings’.
Step 4: Select the Advanced tab.
Step 5: Scroll down to Security category, here
you’ll find the ‘Use TLS 1.2’ box. Make sure
this box is ticked.
Step 6: Then click ‘OK’.

Microsoft Edge
How can I check which version of my web browser I am using?
Step 1: To determine what version of Microsoft
Edge (the replacement for Internet Explorer
released with Windows 10) is being used, click
the three dots located at the top, right side of
the screen.
Step 2: Next, scroll down and click Settings.
Step 3: Scroll again to the bottom of the menu
and see 'About this app'. The version number
is listed here, this must be version 14 or later.
The latest versions of most browsers
automatically have TLS1.2 enabled.

Step 4: If the version is not up to date, please
go to the instructions on the next page.

Microsoft Edge (cont’d)
How do I upgrade my current web browser I am using?
Step 1: Launch Edge and click the ‘Start’
button.
Step 2: Click ‘Settings’.
Step 3: Select ‘Update & Security’.
Step 4: Click ‘Windows Update’.
Step 5: Click ‘Check for updates’.
Step 6: If they are found, they will be installed
and you will get the latest version of Edge.
Step 7: You have now ensured that your copy
of Windows 10 (and thus Microsoft Edge) is up
to date.
Windows 10 will connect to Microsoft and check for any updates.

How can I check if TLS 1.2 is enabled?
Step 1: Launch Edge and click the ‘Start’
button. In the Windows menu search box,
type Internet options. Under Best match,
click Internet Options.
Step 2: In the Internet Properties window, on
the Advance tab.
Step 3: Scroll down to Security category, here
you’ll find the ‘Use TLS 1.2’ box. Make sure
this box is ticked.
Step 4: Then click ‘OK’.

Firefox
How can I check which version of my web browser I am using?
Step 1: Launch Firefox and click the 3 lined menu button as shown, or click
Help from the toolbar.
Step 2: Then select ‘About Firefox’.
Step 3: The About Firefox window will appear. The version number is listed
underneath the Firefox name, this needs to be version 52 or later.
The latest versions of most browsers automatically have TLS1.2 enabled.
If the version is not up to date,
please go to Step 4 instructions
on the next page.

How do I upgrade my current web browser I am using?
Step 4: If the version is not up to date, it will automatically check for
updates as shown.
Step 5: Once the check for updates is complete, this will automatically
download the most up to date version.
Step 6: The ‘Software Update’ box will open displaying the version to
update (as shown below). This needs to display version 52 or later.
Step 7: Click the ‘Restart Firefox’ button to upgrade your browser to
ensure Firefox is up to date.
The Update screen may look different to the one in the screenshot.

How can I check if TLS 1.2 is enabled?
Step 1: Open Firefox – In the address bar, type
about:config and press Enter.
Step 2: In the Search field, enter TLS. Find the entry
for security.tls.version.max, this should be set to 3.

Safari
How can I check which version of my web browser I am using and install a newer version?
Step 1: Launch Safari and click Help from the
toolbar.
Step 2: Click ‘About Safari’ to display the version
number. This needs to be version 10 or later.
The latest versions of most browsers automatically
have TLS1.2 enabled.
Step 3: OS X will regularly & automatically check for
updates to Safari (and any other software you have
installed via the App Store) and prompt you to install
updates as they are found.
It should prompt you in the top-right hand corner of
the screen when updates are found.
Step 4: To manually check for updates and to install
them; Click the Apple menu icon in the top left-hand
corner of your screen.
Step 5: The system menu will appear, click the
‘Software Update’.

How can I check which version of my web browser I am using and install a newer version?
Step 6: This starts the App Store application and
takes you to the ‘Updates’ section On this screen, the
App Store will show you all of the updates which are
available to you. The version update available needs
to be version 10 or later.
Step 7: It will bundle all of the System Applications
(e.g., iTunes, Safari, Security Updates etc.,) which
have updates available into one main "Software
Update" item – shown in the following image.
Step 8: If you click the UPDATE button, it will install
all of those updates in one go. Notice that in some
cases this may also require you to restart your
computer.
Step 9: If you want to upgrade just Safari, click the
blue "More" link; this will expand the System
Applications, allowing you to pick and choose which
updates to install.

How can I check which version of my web browser I am using and install a newer version?
Step 10: App Store will now update Safari. The latest
version of Safari available for your system will
download and install itself. This may take a few
minutes depending on the speed of your internet
connection.
Step 11: You can see the blue progress bar showing
how much of the installation has occurred.
Step 12: Safari is now shown in the Updates
installed in the Last 30 Days section of the App Store
Updates.
If you chose to also install other App updates, these
should be included there as well.
You have now ensured that your copy of Safari is up
to date.
There are no options for enabling SSL protocols. As
you are using Safari version 7 or greater, TLS 1.2
is automatically enabled.
