Founded in 1994 by Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner and Geir Ivarsoey

Began as a telecom company in Telenor, Norway

Headquarters now located in Oslo, Norway

1995 was when Opera browser was first released

Roughly 340 employees

Roughly 250,000 people in Opera community

Camino 1.0 Another Mozilla product except it is

solely for Mac users

In 2001 Mike Pinkerton and Vidur Apparaostarted a project in order to prove thatGecko could be embedded in a Cocoaapplication.

Began as Chimera in February of 2002, butdue to legal issues, changed its name toCamino (Spanish for “road” or “way”).
