This procedure of depositing everything in the general fund wasvoted and approved by the Activity Committee this past year. It makes it easier for thecommittee to control funding. There are specific activities in the park which are allocatedfunds based on past expenses and at the organizer’s request, such as bingo and thesummer dinners. The success of the Activity Committee and park activities depends solely on theparticipation of park residents. Please attend the various functions to support the park. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when youcriticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it. Good judgment comes from bad experience…and most of that comes from bad judgment. There are two excellent theories for arguing with women. Neither one works :D Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.

TECH TIP

What is a Smart TV & how to make your old TV “Smart”: A smart TV has built ininternet connectivity allowing access to video on demand (movies, tv shows) among otherinternet options. The new TV’s usually come with preinstalled “apps”, such as Netflix,Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube to name a few. Also, some new tv’s have the option toadd more apps from the online TV store just like adding apps to an ipad from Apple. Youneed a highspeed internet connection with at least 10mbps in your home. There is a costto use many of these (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu) some are monthly memberships, orannual or on a pay per view basis. Note: If you have a new Smart TV, you must update the software or the apps may not

work properly. In the menu settings you can select to have your TV do automaticupdates. You can turn any old TV into a Smart TV by adding a settop box such as Roku,Chromecast or Apple TV to name a few, giving you access to hundreds of stations usingthe internet. The cost for these devices is $40 on up. The Roku you plug into your old TVusing the 3 colored cables & follow setup using the remote provided (very easy) or youcan use one hdmi cable if your TV has an hdmi port. If your TV has a USB port, you canbuy a streaming stick which plugs directly into your TV and works the same as the settopboxes. No additional charges for these devices, just the stations you subscribe to.
