The Brookside Fall Festival show, in Elk Grove, is an annual highlight, and why not-‐-‐ the show grounds
feature a swimming pool, pub, campground, and café! Fun for everyone, and this year was no exception. Anna and Bodi competed in their first away, rated show, capturing their first rated show championship! Malia, Maddy, Tess, and Sayali came along to cheer on their Sea Star teammate, riding bikes and swimming in between events. Saturday night the whole gang went to the nearby Murieta Equestrian Center to watch Grand Prix jumping at the Sacramento International Horse Show.
Brookside truly inspires and delights!
Brookside: A Fall Tradition
Another Spooktacular Halloween An annual favorite holiday event, the Sea Star Spooktacular was a Halloween hit! Sea Star kids, friends, and family members enjoyed games, a costume parade and contest, and a potluck picnic. The Spooktacular is always a great way to kick off the holiday season and celebrate the end of a successful summer. On to "Deck the Deck" in December!
Pebble Beach Fall Classic Returns The local horse community is thrilled to have the historic Pebble Beach Equestrian Center back in the show rotation, thanks to Carmel's Tack Box. In September, Sea Star Riding School attended the first-‐annual Fall Classic, a
USEF and NorCal 'C'-‐rated show. The footing was fabulous, with the arenas decked out in professional show finery.
Lomi and Crystal did beautifully in their walk-‐trot classes, while Paris Mahoney took Buddy over fences to show off the Sea Star pony's fabulous jump. Buddy also beat many horses in an under-‐saddle class-‐-‐ great job, Paris!
Sea Star riders and families had a great time and look forward to the next rated show at Pebble Beach, as well as the 2015 schooling show series.

Spotlight on: Anna Wheat
Anna and Bodi are a match made in heaven. Anna began leasing the gentle Hanovarian/paint cross with the adorable show name "Simply S'more" in the spring. The team quickly formed a strong bond that helped carry them from walk-‐trot classes to their championship in the Medium Stirrup division at the Brookside Fall Festival. Anna's attention to detail, great work ethic, and generous spirit are all part of what make her a Sea Star standout and role model.
Girl Scout Sunday Sea Stars Girl Scouts from Morgan Hill spent a Sunday afternoon at Sea Star. The "Sea Star Sunday Scouts" program offers young horse lovers a 3-‐hour slice of barn life: brief lessons in horse anatomy, grooming, tacking up, and riding, as well as demonstrations of natural horsemanship and jumping. Scout leaders and family members can watch the demonstrations and enjoy a ranch picnic afterward. For information on the Sunday Scouts program, contact Edie at 831.229.1940.

Sea Star Goes to the Fair What event signifies fall and fun for the whole family more than the county fair?. The Santa Cruz County fairgrounds are right around the corner from White Rock, and this year's theme was "Sew It, Grow It, Show It." Several Sea Star kids had a chance to "show it," at the fair, the only horse show where riders can compete in their class and then head to the fairway for carnival rides and curly fries!
Anna got to don a flashy Western outfit as she and Bodi competed in the versatility class before returning to familiar hunter divisions. Mo and Rocky went under the lights for the first time as they tried their hand at the Gambler's Choice on Friday night. Watch for Mo in this event every year! Lindsey and Tango made their show-‐ring debut, winning top ribbons in both jumper classes they entered. These two are a great team and are spending the
winter preparing for spring shows at Woodside. The pony Buddy made his Sea Star show ring debut at the fair, proving his all-‐around excellence by taking Sayali through several flat classes as well as hosting Teagan in leadline. The cheerful, snow-‐white pony turned heads wherever he went with his movie-‐star looks and perfect manners. The Santa Cruz County Fair will be on Sea Star's schedule every year… fun for everyone!

A registered Dutch warmblood, Tango is a 16.1 h. mare who has years of show jumping experience. Tango won the Almaden Farms Mini-prix and has done the Pebble Beach Derby. Well-mannered and quiet, Tango loves to be groomed and pampered, and enjoys the trail. Tango is looking forward to meeting her next Riding School and Show Team partners and is available for lessons or lease.
Buddy Joins the Sea Star Team Sea Star Riding School is proud to announce that the delightful Welsh pony, Buddy, is now permanently ensconced in our program! Since his September arrival, Buddy has charmed children and adults alike with his perfect manners, cheerful attitude, and flashy moves under saddle. He already has several 4-‐year old riding partners, has starred in the Spootacular costume-‐fest, and was the blue-‐ribbon winner, against a group of much-‐larger horses, in the under saddle class at the Pebble Beach Fall Classic. Buddy sports a scopy jump style, but is also quite happy patiently helping young riders just learning to ride. Buddy is available for a
half-‐lease or weekly lessons. For more information, or to make an appointment to come meet the newest Sea Star, contact Edie at 831.229.1940.
