successful season, culminating in the AFC championship. They played their first regular-season game against the Baltimore Ravens, who had won the Super Bowl the previous year after an upset victory against the Broncos in the playoffs. Thanks to seven touchdown passes from Peyton Manning, the Broncos won 49 to 27.
