Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Make in India program on 25 September 2014 in a function at the Vigyan Bhavan. On 29 December 2014, a workshop was organised by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion which was attended by PM Modi, his cabinet ministers and chief secretaries of states as well as various industry leaders.

The major objective behind the initiative is to focus on job creation and skill enhancement in 25 sectors of the economy. The initiative also aims at high quality standards and minimising the impact on the environment.The initiative hopes to attract capital and technological investment in India. The campaign was designed by Wieden Kennedy.

Under the initiative, brochures on the 25 sectors and a web portal were released. Before the initiative was launched, foreign equity caps in various sectors had been relaxed. The application for licences was made available online and the validity of licences was increased to three years. Various other norms and procedures were also relaxed.

In August 2014, the Cabinet of India allowed 49% foreign direct investment (FDI) in the defence sector and 100% in railways infrastructure. The defence sector previously allowed 26% FDI and FDI was not allowed in railways. This was in hope of bringing down the military imports of India. Earlier, one Indian company would have held the 51% stake, this was changed so that multiple companies could hold the 51%. Between September 2014 and November 2015, the government received 1.20 lakh crore (US$18 billion) worth of proposals from companies interested in manufacturing electronics in India. 24.8% of smartphones shipped in the country in the April–June quarter of 2015 were made in India, up from 19.9% the previous quarter.

The advantage of digital India programme implementation in our college, that the students from various department can produce their final year project to the Government . And there by they can go for a great opportunities in their field of study. And our college is the first college giving this opportunity to the students.

Mechatronics is a blend of branches of engineering like Mechanical, Electrical, Electro- nics and Computer Science. It focuses mainly on design and production of automated

equipment. It deals with design, development, maintenance and management of high-technology engineering systems for automation of industrial operations. Mechatronics can be applied to fields like nanotechnology, automation, aircraft engineering, oceanography, oil and gas, biomedical systems, transport and computer-aided design. Professionals in Mechatronics can work in areas like design, R&D, manufacture, production, safety and quality. PSN EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST provides the Scholarship opportunity to young

people with exceptional talent in any field to broaden their vision abroad and improve their

skills to operate in society, thus making them a future vehicle of change in their environment.

PSN Group identifies the students on merit cum need basis for scholarships and provides

financial assistance and mentorship to guide the students in the right direction to realize their

dreams. Mentorship is done through workshops, career counseling sessions, and interaction

with professionals in respective fields.

ELIGIBILITY1. Gross family income of candidate must be less than Rs. 40000 per annum.

2. Candidate must pass in +2, with minimum 50% aggr. In PCM group & minimum 50% in English at 10th or 12th. Max. age 23 yrs.

3. All students who are eligible for the scholarships (for programmes after 10+2 only) are given admission on Fast Track. That means they do not have to appear for the admission selection process and their admission is done based on their application form. Direct Admission is not applicable for Post Graduate programs. Scholarship will be offered after joining the program on verification of original documents

4. Candidates must submit their 10th, 12th (+2) Educational Certificates, Ration card, Income certificate.

5. Only first year applicants beginning their studies in BE/ B Tech and Polytechnic in the academic year 2015-16 are eligible.

6. The applicants should have passed their Higher Secondary/ Intermediate/ CBSE/ISC or equivalent board qualifying examination not earlier than in 2012.
