ABOUT UPAAA, INC.

SHOW HOW TO

History & Mission

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association in America was founded in 1981 by a group of graduates of the University of the Philippines in New Jersey, led by Dr. Arsenio Talingdan. Its primary aim is to unite UP alumni associations in America and to work for the preservation of the UP System as the national center for academic excellence, freedom and service. In 38 years, UPAAA Inc. has held 20 General Assembly and Convention of UP alumni in the United States. It has a long list of accomplishment, including a Scholarship Fund, Professional Chairs and the recognition of and granting of award to alumni in the US who excel in their profession and field of expertise. ABOUT UPAASF

SHOW HOW TO

History & Mission

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of San Francisco, Inc. (UPAASF) organized in July 1973 in Daly City, California serves as the premier lead for organized activity of the University of the Philippines alumni circle of the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the years it has supported the University in raising funds for significant projects and has been robust in its mission towards the sustainability of Filipino values and Philippine cultural traditions through its Annual Filipino Cultural Immersion Camp for children 8-16 years old. The 2-week summer program is open to all. The Officers and Board Directors of UPAASF are the engine of various committees which include Membership, Philanthropy, Filipino Heritage & Community Engagement, Fundraising, Communications and consistently respond, as a group or as individuals, to other calls for collaboration for the broader aspect of community-building in the Bay Area, or relief assistance to the people of the Philippines affected by natural disasters and philanthropic programs in various UP alumni chapters in the Philippines.
