Seals & Gaskets are critical components of all machinery in the

modern world, and their applications are manifold, ranging from the humble

human pedal powered cycle to space craft. Materials used to make the seals

& gaskets vary from simple paper to fibres, elastomers, graphite, metals,

ceramics, coatings etc. They are used in all the applications where it is

required to isolate the system from the universe for its proper functioning

and achieving the desired process with efficiency and non-

contamination.

The selection of the right materials, design, manufacturing

processes, installation and maintenance, assembling, performance testing,

etc play vital roles in producing the right quality and kind of seal or gasket for

a particular application so as to have protection of components and their

damage from various types of surroundings.

Highly advanced technologies had been showcased at the last

Hannover fair in Germany on seals & gaskets and this has motivated us to

bring about awareness on Excellence and Advances in Seals & Gaskets.

However, the subject has rarely been discussed exclusively in a forum in

India.

This seminar will bring together on one platform - the technocrats,

manufacturers, suppliers, purchasers, designers, and end users involved. It

will be our endeavour to address the related problems and the failures to

meet end user requirements, and to promote the development of quality

products with zero defect manufacturing and cost effective solutions

through innovative technologies.

With these views a two day International Conference on “Excellence
