5 Day Intensive Vedanta retreat & workshop Anaikatti, Tamil Nadu, South India | 17-21 January 2014

Living the vision of Oneness

During this retreat in the scenic part of South India, you will be given a unique opportunity to be exposed to

the teaching of Non Duality. You will share this retreat with a small group of individuals from all over the

world who like you are interested in learning more about oneself. The exposure to the vision of Oneness can

truly bring about a major shift in perspective and transform your entire life.

Upadesa Saram, the Essence of the Teaching

This short, beautiful and profound text of 30 verses by Ramana Maharishi will be unfolded in the morning. It

was composed upon the request of the poet Muruganar who wanted a summary of the whole teaching of

Non Duality. Upadesa Saram starts by explaining why any type of action cannot lead to the ultimate freedom

the individual is looking for in life. While it explains how knowledge or self inquiry alone can solve the

fundamental human problem of self inadequacy, it also expounds the role and scope of action, devotion,

meditation in the pursuit of the vision of oneness. Upadesa Saram is thus an essential text to understand the

direct and indirect means to gain freedom.

Interactive workshop session

In order for participants to assimilate the implications of the vision of oneness in setting ones short and long

term goals, relating to people, taking decisions and actions, 4 interactive sessions are introduced in the

afternoon. The sessions will cover 4 modules revisiting some essential aspects of teachings through

engaging participants in group discussions, case studies drawn from personal and work situations, role plays

and watching videos.

These two sessions will be reinforced with morning meditations and practice of meditative

movements.
