This  2-­‐day  seminar  will  bring  PhD  students  and  junior  researchers  working  in  the  field  of  posi*ve  occupa*onal  health  psychology  together  in  order  to  discuss  the  most  recent  theore*cal  and  empirical  advances  in  the  field  and  to  invite  feedback  on  their  own  research  from  peers  and  leading  experts  in  the  field.  As  the  seminar  is  in  the  format  of  a  small  group  mee*ng,  par*cipant  places  will  be  limited.        Main  themes  covered  will  be  as  follows:    Work  engagement,  theore*cal  frameworks  (e.g.,  job  demands-­‐resources  theory),  posi*ve  interven*ons  at  work,  healthy  and  resilient  organisa*ons,  cri*cal  views  on  the  development  of  posi*ve  psychology,  and  occupa*onal  health  psychology  methodological  research.    

§  To  provide  an  overview  of  the  emerging  field  of  posi*ve  occupa*onal  health  psychology.    

§  To  outline  the  theore*cal  frameworks  underlying  processes  and  empirical  findings  related  to  the  area.  

§  To  discuss  recent  theore*cal  and  empirical  advances  in  the  field.    

§  To  discuss  research  methods,  measurement  issues,  and  prac*cal  implica*ons  of  posi*ve  occupa*onal  health  psychology.  

§  To  provide  an  opportunity  for  learning,  crea*ng  important  research  connec*ons,  and  networking.  

§  To  discuss  the  research  of  the  par*cipants  in  a  personalized  way

Arnold  B.  Bakker  is  full  professor  and  chair  at  the  Department  of  Work  and  Organiza*onal  Psychology  at  Erasmus  University  RoVerdam,  The  Netherlands.  He  is  president  of  the  European  Associa*on  of  Work  and  Organiza*onal  Psychology,  and  secretary-­‐general  of  the  Alliance  of  Organiza*onal  Psychology.  His  research  interests  include  work  engagement,  burnout,  spillover  and  crossover.  His  research  has  been  published  in  journals  such  as  Journal  of  Applied  Psychology,  Journal  of  Voca7onal  Behavior,  and  Human  Rela7ons.  See  also:  www.arnoldbakker.com

Wilmar  B.  Schaufeli  is  full  professor  of  Work  and  Organiza*onal  Psychology  at  Utrecht  University,  The  Netherlands.  His  research  area  is  occupa*onal  health  psychology  and  includes  job  stress,  burnout,  absenteeism,  work  engagement,  workaholism,  and  worksite  health  interven*ons.  He  published  over  three  hundred  ar*cles  and  chapters,  and  authored  or  edited  about  a  dozen  books.  He  is  also  an  evidence-­‐based  senior  HRM  consultant  at  365  BV.  For  more  details  see:  www.schaufeli.com        

Evangelia  DemerouT  is  a  full  professor  at  Eindhoven  University  of  Technology,  The  Netherlands.  Her  research  interests  include  topics  from  the  field  of  work  and  health,  including  posi*ve  organiza*onal  behaviour,  the  job  demands–resources  model,  work-­‐family  interface,  crossover  of  strain,  and  recovery.  She  has  published  over  50  na*onal  and  interna*onal  paper  and  book  chapters  on  these  topics,  served  as  a  reviewer  for  various  na*onal  and  interna*onal  scien*fic  journals.  Her  ar*cles  have  been  published  in  journals  including  Journal  of  Voca7onal  Behaviour,  Journal  of  Occupa7onal  Health  Psychology  and  Journal  of  Applied  Psychology.

On  the  evening  of  June  7th  following  a  day  of  presenta*ons  and  workshops,  a  bus  will  take  all  par*cipants  to  the  highest  pub  in  Ireland  ‘Johnnie  Fox’s’  for  a  tradi*onal  Irish  meal  followed  by  a  ‘Hooley  Show’  of  Irish  music  and  dancing  (www.jfp.ie)

PUBLIC  TRANSPORT  

M50  Northbound  Proceed  along  the  M1  un*l  you  come  to  the  roundabout  that  intersects  with  the  M50  (Junc*on  3).  Proceed  southbound  along  the  M50  and  take  the  Ballymun  exit  (Junc*on  4).  At  the  traffic  lights  on  the  roundabout,  turn  leo  and  drive  through  Ballymun.  Turn  leo  at  the  Collins  Avenue/Ballymun  Road  crossroads.  DCU  is  located  on  Collins  Avenue  500m  on  the  right  hand  side.      M50  Southbound  Drive  through  the  Westlink  toll  bridge  and  con*nue  along  the  M50  un*l  the  Ballymun  exit  (Junc*on  4).  At  the  traffic  lights  on  the  roundabout,  take  the  third  exit  and  drive  through  Ballymun.  Follow  the  direc*ons  for  DCU  as  outlined  above.      From  city  centre  Follow  the  airport  road  which  takes  you  through  Drumcondra  along  the  N1,  towards  the  M1.  Con*nue  past  the  junc*on  for  Griffith  Avenue  un*l  you  reach  the  junc*on  at  Whitehall.  At  this  crossroads  turn  leo  onto  Collins  Avenue.  DCU  is  500m  on  the  leo  hand  side.
