About Us

Our Junior Summer Centre is located at Loreto College in Bray, County Wicklow. Just 40 minutes from Dublin city centre by bus or DART (local train), Bray is one of the oldest and most popular seaside towns in Ireland. Summer in Bray is always exciting with lots of events and festivals including the annual Air Display and Summerfest. We also have great ice-cream parlours! Our Junior Summer Centre has extensive facilities including modern classrooms, concert and sports halls, all-weather playing

fields, a music room and student recreation facilities. Sports include basketball, Gaelic games, soccer and table tennis in addition to professional sports coaching in rugby, soccer, volleyball, tennis, golf and horse riding. Summer at PACE is a lot of fun. You will have language classes in the mornings. Your afternoons and evenings will be filled with sports, music, drama, yoga, arts and crafts. You will have Irish dancing lessons, talent shows, sports competitions and quiz nights. You will discover

the beauty of Ireland’s mountains, valleys and lakes. You will also visit castles and ancient monasteries.

Dublin is one of most vibrant cities in Europe. It is rich in history and culture. On your trips to Dublin, you will discover the city’s many museums and art galleries – you will see giant Irish Elk, extinct for thousands of years, in the Natural History Museum. You will learn all about Dublin’s Viking beginnings, experience what life was like in Medieval Dublin and cross Dublin’s most loved and iconic landmark – the historic Ha’penny Bridge.

What to Expect FIRST DAY On your first morning you will have a school induction. You will be given a tour of the school and informed of the times for classes, meals and activities. You will take a test to ensure that you are placed in the correct class for your level.

MORNINGS You will have morning English lessons from Monday

to Friday. On your first morning you will have a test to place you in the class best suited to you. Your English classes will be lively and engaging. Here you will develop your grammar, vocabulary and fluency through a range of interactive activities. Each week you will work with other students to research, develop and present a group project on a subject or theme of your choice.

AFTERNOONS

There is something for everyone in the afternoons. Depending on your chosen programme, you will participate in our Multi-Activity, Music or Professional Sports Coaching programmes. If you choose Multi-Activities, your afternoons will be filled with photography, drama, arts and crafts, yoga and team sports. We will also introduce you to traditional Irish music, dance and sports. You will also have a mid-week outing to a place of cultural interest. If our Music programme is your chosen activity, you will get the opportunity to play a range of instruments including traditional Irish instruments. You will explore lots of popular music genres and you will also have the opportunity to

collaborate with other students to write and perform your own music and songs.
