POORNIMA UNIVERSITYPoornima University (PU) is a private research University in Jaipur, India established by an act of the Rajasthan legislature. PU was established in 2012 with an enrollment of 800 students. Currently PU has more than 2700 students from all over the country enrolled in more than 20 courses. PU is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and its architecture program is approved by Council of Architecture (COA).

PU was awarded the “Best Upcoming University in India” by Honourable Minister of Human Resources Development at an event hosted by ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India). PU by virtue of being a University, provides students a wide perspective, a melting pot for varied interests, diverse cultures and a multi disciplinary cosmos. Holistic development of each student and inculcation of values and ethics is emphasized at PU.

Department of Mathematics is equipped with a team of qualified, competent, experienced and motivated faculty members who are specialists in their fields. The department has been engaged in both pure and applied mathematics. More than 75 papers have also been published in national and international journals. At present 5 scholars are working for their Ph. D degree. The society established in 1994 at National level and got registered at

Delhi. The main objective was to promote the research in defferent areas of

information theory. The very first National conference of ISITA as convened

by Prof. RK Tuteja, at MD University , Rohtak, The Second at HAU Hisar

Convened by Prof. DS Hooda and the third at GMDU, Amritsar by Prof. Om

Prakash. Presently, this is the 17th National/International conference of

ISITA. For promotion the society as per its main objectives , the society

started excellence awards for the contribution in information theory and

application, The first award was given to the well known information theorist

to Prof. Bhudev Sharma, The second to Late Prof. JN Kapoor and the third

Prof. RK Tuteja, Prof. D.S. Hooda and many others for that one can see the

web of ISITA. In the same sequence the well known international

information theorist, Prof. IJ Taneja, Brazil was awarded in absentia in

2015 at Pathankot.
