OUR CONSTANT STRIVING TO GROW.

IPACK-IMA 2012: TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTS SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT.

The packaging industry is a key sector of the world’s economy, and can make a substantial contribution to providing healthy and more plentiful food foreveryone. As much as 60% of the total food produced globally deteriorates, or goes wasted, due to the lack of proper packaging.

IPACK-IMA 2012 will call upon its community to again address this issue on the occasion of an international convention, to discuss how technology can help ensure food sustainability and safety.

This event is part of a multi-year project which started in 2009 with theconvention “More technology, safety & quality, less hunger”. This commitmentwas carried into 2010 with the “IPACK-IMA days”: Technology for Food Safety. The effort to focus on this important issue will continue in 2011 with a technological symposium to be staged in Africa, dealing with the issuesconnected to Food Security and Food Safety and in IPACK-IMA 2012 with an important international convention.
