Eurofrigo Vernate is a leading 3PL provider in temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics for the food industry, offering the most comprehensive warehousing, transportation, and logistics solutions in Italy.

Eurofrigo Vernate has been operating for over 40 years providing warehousing and logistic services mainly for the fresh and frozen food industry.

Since the 90s Eurofrigo Vernate has expanded its range of services, offering not only warehousing services (e.g. receiving, handling, storage, dispatch) but also distribution and value-added logistics services (e.g. picking, wrapping, labelling, stickering) in the temperature-controlled supply chain, focusing on customer satisfaction and steady growth and achieving excellent results in terms of number of clients and business development.

Since its founding, Eurofrigo Vernate has supported a self-financing policy focusing on a continued process of infrastructure modernization and expansion, technology development, and ongoing personnel training and specialization.

Based in Vernate, Eurofrigo Vernate owns and operates a temperature-controlled warehouse with Simplified Declaration Procedure (SDP) and all the sanitary authorizations.

Eurofrigo Vernate is certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2008, IFS Logistic and has a Organic Quality Certification for storage and distribution of organic products.

Eurofrigo Vernate has a robust organizational structure with reliable, qualified personnel using proven processes and supported by a customized operating system working with RF technology. The system ensures optimized product management and an ability to adapt quickly to all specific client needs.

STRUCTURE

Eurofrigo Vernate is located strategically on the southern outskirts of Milan, near the major highways: 1.5 km from the A7 Milan-Genoa motorway, 10 km from the Milan bypass and 20 km from A1 Milan-Naples motorway.

The entire complex has been designed with several refrigerated buildings dedicated to storage and a refrigerated antechamber for loading and unloading.

Eurofrigo Vernate owns buildable land next to its facility that would increase significantly the current capacity.

The refrigerated cells with “back-to-back” racks and compactable systems are equipped with a modern RF system and can operate at different temperatures, from -15°C to -25°C for frozen foods and from 0°C to +4°C for fresh foods, depending on specific client needs. The compressor room is outfitted with 2 ammonia screw compressors and 2 freon semi-hermetic compressors, which assure controlled temperature in the cells and refrigerated antechamber. The third screw compressor

and the third semi-hermetic compressor serve as back-up if necessary.

Temperatures is monitored in real time by special sensors and automatically regulated in all operational areas.

The automatic system detects anomalies and reports them immediately to the technical support service, which is active 24/7.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is performed by a wholly-owned fleet supported by vehicles belonging to carriers working on a permanent basis for Eurofrigo Vernate. Eurofrigo Vernate operates both locally

and nationally (including Sicily, Sardinia and other islands) serving many destinations several times per week thanks to:

• diversified vehicles (33-pallet semi-trailers, lorries, vans) and equipment (hydraulic tailboards and

bulkheads)• a dense transportation network• experienced and knowledgeable staff

In accordance with the current regulations in terms of health and safety and HACCP, our fleet is fitted with the latest equipment to ensure constant and complete temperature control during transportation.

Moreover our fleet is integrated into an innovative online system that allows us to manage our drivers, trucks and planning in real time.

WAREHOUSING

Our Warehouse Management System (WMS) allows us to automatically manage product identification and traceability and to guarantee proper rotation of inventory on a FEFO (First Expired First Out) basis.Our WMS ensures product traceability, tracking the product from the acceptance to the delivery stages, managing:

• The Indicod EAN SSCC system

• Item Code• Lot• Expiration Date• Quantity

In addition to traditional warehousing services (receiving, storage, handling and dispatch), Eurofrigo Vernate provides all value-added logistic services, customized and tailored to the

needs of each client, e.g.:

• Container loading/unloading• Product quality control• Picking• Boxing/re-boxing• Banding• Wrapping & labelling (box or inner-pack)• Stickering• Restacking• Pallet inversion• Import/export services

Our warehouse has all sanitary and hygienic authorizations, and works with EEC permissions

and the Simplified Declaration Procedure (SDP). All the business operations are carried out inaccordance with HACCP principles and all current regulations in force to assure food safety.

ECO-COMPATIBILITY

Eurofrigo Vernate complies fully with environmental protection regulations.It has implemented various measures to:

• Reduce energy consumption and emissions of harmful gases• Eliminate pollutants (CFCs and similar gases)• Use renewable resources (e.g. a 900 KW rooftop photovoltaic power station was installed onsite in 2011)• Recycle materials
