DSEULTRA®

STARTINGWITHQUALITY.DSEULTRA® is made up of twodifferent series of control modules,designed to provide manual andautomatic control of diesel generatingsets that include non-electronicengines. The DSEULTRA® seriescombines compact module sizes withadvanced functionality giving theuser an excellent range of enginemonitoring and protection features.

The modules have the capability* tomonitor: low oil pressure, highengine temperature, over speed,under speed, generator volts,generator current, generator frequencyand engine run hours. Engine faultsare indicated via LED indicators orLCD displays. Upon detection themodules shut down the engine, onlyallowing a re-start once the faultcondition has been removed.

The DSEULTRA® series is ideal foruse on standard applications thatuse simple generating sets andwhere ease of use is an essentialpart of a customer’s requirements.

SHARINGWITHSIMPLICITY.DSEPOWER® is a series of threecontrol modules designed toprovide advanced load share controlfor diesel and gas generating setsthat include non-electronic andelectronic engines. The DSEPOWER®

Series combines sleek panel designwith comprehensive load sharefunctionality and advancedmonitoring and engine protectionfeatures. This gives the user anextremely powerful control solution.New in-built technology eliminatesthe requirement for additional AVR &governor control. Panel instrumentationcan be viewed on the module’sfront panel LCD display.

The DSEPOWER® Series can beused across a number of differentload share situations, including:

• Single generating sets in parallelwith the mains (utility)

• Multiple generating sets in parallelwith the mains (utility)

• Multiple generating sets in parallelwith multiple mains (utility)

• Multiple generating sets in parallelwith multiple mains (utility)supplies, feeding multiple loads

The modules can combine amaximum of 16 generators and16 mains (utility) supplies up to amaximum of 20 in one system,e.g. 16 generators and four mains(utility) supplies.

The modules have the capability* tomonitor: under/over generator volts,over current, under/over generatorfrequency, under/over speed,charge fail, emergency stop, low oilpressure, high engine temperature,fail to start, low/high DC batteryvolts, fail to stop, generator shortcircuit protection, reverse power,generator phase rotation error, earthfault protection, loss of speed, fail tosynchronise and MPU open circuitfailure. Engine faults are indicatedvia LED indicators, LCD displaysand audible alarms. Upon detectionthe modules shut down the engine,only allowing a re-start once thefault condition has been removed.

The DSEPOWER® Series is ideal foruse on generating sets of all sizesand where comprehensive loadshare functionality is required. Themodules can also be used toexpand existing analogue load sharesites when used with the DSE123Interface (see DSEEXTRA®, page 11).

BATTERY CHARGERSThe DSE 3.5 Amp and 7.3 AmpBattery Chargers are designed to bepermanently connected toautomotive batteries, keeping themcharged to their maximum capacity.The chargers can also be used tosupply a standing load that isattached to a battery. The 3.5 Ampcharger has been designed for useon 12 Volt lead acid batteries andthe 7.3 Amp has been designed foruse on 24 Volt lead acid batteries.To improve reliability the chargersdo not include any moving parts.The technology inside the chargershas been designed to avoidovercharging and overloading. Thechargers will also continue tooperate during cranking & runningand have the ability to acceptmultiple AC voltage connections.

The DSE 5 Amp and 10 Ampbattery chargers are available in 12and 24 Volt versions and include allthe features of the 3.5 Amp and 7.3Amp chargers. They also include acharge fail circuit, boost circuit andthe ability to accept a greater inputvoltage range.
