“Insufficient supply of quality skill has hindered
economic growth in India. Our vocational training initiatives encourage parents to motivate their children to pursue specialized vocational courses that’ll make them job ready, instead of run-of-the-mill courses which hardly impact any practical
skill sets.’’
Why Vocational Education?
Nearly 6.3 million students graduate from universities
every year in India, of which 15% have engineering
degrees and diplomas. But the National Association of
Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM)
estimates that only 25% of the technical graduates and
15% of other type of graduates meet the standards of
employability. Vocational education can help change
that. With the syllabus incorporating all aspects of
theory and simultaneous application, it prepares the
individual to perform and excel in their respective
profession. A large part of vocational education
involves hands-on training and skill-based learning,
thereby giving students a holistic understanding of
subjects and completing the learning curve.
All in all, it results in a win-win situation where the
industry has enough skilled manpower to cater to its
needs and the students get a platform to get themselves
industry-ready’ and shape their future.
“ Vocational education programs have made a
real difference in the lives of countless young
people nationwide; they build self-confidence and
leadership skills by allowing students to utilize
their unique gifts and talents.”
Vocational Education: The Global Scenario
Ÿ India's formally trained workforce - which stand at
merely 2.3% in comparison to economies like South
Korea which are at a mammoth share of 96%Ÿ Community Colleges are popular in the US and
UK.Ÿ Germany & Switzerland have also implemented
vocational education as a parallel system along with
formal academic learning.
Most countries have a well defined vocational
education structure through which they have not only
achieved growth at local levels
but they have also helped micro level entrepreneurs
and provided a trained workforce to modern industry.
Over the years, the countries have experienced very
low unemployment rates.
With the Ministry of Human Resource Development
announcing the National Skills Qualification
Framework (NSQF) and Sector Skill Councils
Program, India has started to understand better the
importance of vocational education.

equipping students with the right skill sets, we not only
prepare them for their career ahead, but also fulfills the
industry's requirements. This programme also allows
students to pursue their passion and love for the trade by
working on real-life assignments.
The five year programme is divided into two parts -
Diploma programme for the first 2 years followed by
the 3 year Degree programme. RAGC also allows
lateral entry to the degree programme to the students
who have passed XII grade in any stream (Arts /

My son’s progress in RAGC is very good and he has developed a lot in a very short period of time which is easily noticeable. His communication and presentation skills, confidence and eagerness to know about new technologies using various web tools - there’s a marked difference in him. It would not be possible without your continuous support, guidelines and high standards of teaching skills.

The collaboration with Pearson Education and the University of Wolverhampton would benefit all those students who wish to
enroll for international degree programs but are unable to do so due to socio-economic restrictions along with those students
who require top-up programs for their Higher National Diplomas. Such a partnership allows us to deliver international
curriculum locally enabling us to cater to global industry requirements and set standards for quality education programs in
India, thereby increasing the acceptability of Indian students worldwide.
Pearson’s BTEC qualifications are recognised in more than 70 countries worldwide, and more than 2.58 million learners are
registered for BTECs and other vocational qualifications globally.
Students passing out of Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers under University of Wolverhampton International degree
programme would be getting the same degree as UK campus students. Students and faculties will have access to all the
academic resources that a student/faculty in UK campus does. In addition there would be continuous faculty visits from
University of Wolverhampton to ensure that students get the best of the skill sets that are offered globally, allowing students to
pursue international program at an affordable cost without compromising on the quality.

LIFE AT RAGC
Myself, Kailash Durgesh Pawar. I took admission in
RAGC in 2014 in Automobiles as I was very keen about
cars. I was enjoying the studies because it was blended
with theory, practicals and field visits. As soon as I
completed my Diploma, I started looking for a job. 1st I
joined as a trainee in one of our local garage and the task
given to me was just washing cars, then after I switched
my job to Maruti, where I was working as a technician
soon my career got a twist and with my experience and
patience, I got a chance to work with Nissan Micra -
Dubai as a Service Advisor with a good package. I
Thank RAGC and my parents for giving the greatest
support.

I am a proud alumni of RAGC. I completed my Higher
National Diploma in Hospitality Management in 2017.
When I enrolled in 2015, my mother was not sure of
continuing my education at RAGC because of financial
reasons. But, my HOD sir empowered me to continue
until I get an internship. The learning at RAGC helped
me to get an internship at Four Seasons with a stipend of
Rs.13,000. Today I am a Front office supervisor at The
Bank of China and earning more than 3 times my
stipend. That's RAGC, touching life and making a
difference.
I am a Hospitality Management student from 2015
batch. When I joined RAGC, I was a very shy type girl
and my communication was also not so good. I started
my career with handling Managerial Role in Front
Office at St. Regis Hotel (Marriott International) and
now working as a Sr. Executive at Westin Hotel. For 3 consecutive years, I received appreciation from
stmy company. (1 two years - Best grooming award and
this year, Executive of the year)

The Success Stories
Name: : Naresh SutarCourse: Construction EngineeringBatch: 2017
Naresh left his Mother, siblings and comfort of his
native place in Rajasthan with a dream of becoming a
carpenter like his father and came down to Umbergaon.
Here he made new friends who were planning to study
further. He joined them on their journey and came to
RAGC Dahanu campus. After learning about
vocational programs he was very impressed and
decided to join the institute. He convinced his father and
took admission in Diploma construction. A couple of
months later, his father got a contract in Bangalore and
was planning to move there. He wanted Naresh to
accompany him to Bangalore, but Naresh was
determined to complete his course so he stayed all alone
in Umbergaon and completed his program after which
he went to Bangalore joined his father. There he
assembled a few more skilled carpenters and started
taking interior decorations contracts.
Name: Shruti Morab Course: Business Batch: 2017
Initially there were few glitches but slowly he
picked up the pace. A turning point came when he
was able to grab a contract of 12 branches of SBI
for their whole setup and interior design. Today
he is running a firm which has successfully
completed projects worth more than annual
turnover of 4 crores.
It was always my dream to work for an MNC and on
overseas projects. Today, I am glad that I could find a
job for myself in an MNC as Sourcing Account
Manager in Hotel Reservation Service. With my skills,
I was honored with the project working in Germany
with the company.Hence if I may bring your attention back to being
privileged and blessed, I must say, the credit goes to
RAGC and University of Wolverhampton, and the
professor where the skills that I have acquired in a
short time made me competitive and job ready. I would
definitely recommend RAGC to our future students
and youth looking to elevate their dreams.
