WORD CHARTS Word charts are similar to word walls, except that the words are categorized into clusters. In this particular context, think about dividing vocabulary into three categories: science process vocabulary, content vocabulary, and additional vocabulary, such as connecting words (and, into, through) and descriptive words.

NETWORKS OF WORDS To make a net of words should choose a topic, which will be the key concept or(in the above examples: vacation and hair) then must create ramificationsusing words that have meanings related to the key concept. Thenet of words can be as wide as necessary. It can be usedonly combined with words or images. In the same way you can createsub-classifications as in the following example

in short, English for academic purposes helps high Education students get better profiency at using English, foreigners can benefit form taking this course if they want to succeed in an university classroom.

Finally, learners will improve their english langauge skills because they are covered by using a different wide range of strategies as the ones highlited.

Note Taking Strategies

Actively listening to th e speaker and detects phrases such as "The Most Important point ..." , "Remember that ...",

Think, analyze, judge, compare and understand what the speaker is trying to convey; then, in your own words, summarizes the main idea

Improve the way you write your essays. become better at writing by:

Analize: develop a topic sentence

Support: include secondary ideas and details that support your topic sentence

Organize: put your essay in order by creating a logical progression
