Bandos is a 178,900 square metre coral island situated in North Malé Atoll. This idyllic resort was opened on 10 December 1972 (and renovated in 2005) as the second resort in the Maldives. Conveniently located just 7km from Malé International Airport, Bandos has a total of 225 rooms, comprising beach front standard rooms, non-beach front standard rooms, deluxe rooms, garden villas, beach villas and water villas.

In all emergencies, our Medical Clinic with a Decompression Chamber

is at your disposal. While diving with us, all divers are insured free of

charge against Decompression Sickness (DCS), for cases requiring

chamber treatments up to €6,000.00. Bandos Medical has two medi-

cal doctors (European): a General Practitioner and a Dive Medical Offi-

cer, and a nurse on site 24 hours a day.

A stone's throw away from the main island of Bandos lies the uninhabited island of Kuda Bandos (literally meaning small Bandos), ideal for a relaxing private picnic on the beach or for simply enjoying the sunset after a full day of snorkelling the reef or swimming in the clear blue lagoon.

Open throughout the week except Fridays, Saturdays and other public holidays, Kuda Bandos is one of the few “Robinson Crusoe” experiences available in the Maldives. The island has only very basic facilities like restrooms and showers. Water and other drinks are available for purchase from the Kuda Bandos main reception area.

Popular statistics claim that the average Maldivian consumes an average of 75 kilograms of tuna annually. Our love for fishing should then come as no surprise, and Bandos is proud to share the Maldivian flair for fishing with our guests, particularly the art of bait-less fishing.

Designed with this in mind is our state of the art vessel, a Prowler equipped with a fish finder, global positioning system, radar and so forth. One needn't be an expert, as our team includes professional fishermen who will assist you throughout the trip. All the fishing gear on board is Penn International and Shimano brand equipment.

Sports Fishing

The Water Sports centre at Bandos is run by a team of professionals who are highly skilled in their craft and are multilingual. Some of our most preferred activities include snorkelling, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, water skiing, parasailing, banana boat riding, wakeboard, knee board, fun tubes and canoeing.

The Water Sports facility here at Bandos also offers top notch catamaran and windsurfing facilities and boasts quality equipment such as Hifly, North-Sails and Topcats. At Bandos, the possibilities for water sports enthusiasts are truly endless.

For those guests who seek a more professional path to keeping fit or even relaxing, Para-dise Club, the sports complex at Bandos, is the answer for both physical and mental fitness. Our gymnasium, equipped with state of the art facilities and staffed with qualified, friendly instructors, is open to all our guests free of charge. Our guests can enjoy a free aerobics ses-sion with our instructors, or a game of badminton, beach volleyball or tennis on our flood-lit courts. You might even want take a plunge in the club's freshwater swimming pool after your workout.

Guests wishing to take it a bit easier can enjoy our billiards facilities, or lounge about in our TV room where we feature major news, sports and entertainment channels, or play table tennis and board games.
