Application of Theoretical Concepts to Real-Life Situation
The overarching intent in design of the pedagogy is to introduce students to fundamental concepts and techniques in the classroom, to provide ample opportunities to apply this learning using simulated real-life situations, and then reinforce the same through additional discussions, feedback sessions, live corporate projects and interactions with practicing industry leaders.
Academic Rigor
At FIIB, learning is non-stop, intense and dynamic; through a fast paced and stimulating process, students are required to manage their own schedules between class, personal study and a variety of activities that happen on an everyday basis at the campus.
Group Work and Presentations
With the objective to develop collective decision-making, group responsibilities and persuasive communication skills, students are required to work in groups regularly and make presentations on assigned topics.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
At FIIB, the case study method, complemented by role plays, management games, etc., is used in all courses to help build the students' skill to effectively diagnose situation and recommend solution.
Continuous Evaluation and Feedback
Course evaluation is designed to assess learning amongst the students and two-way timely feedback is given for improvements. The faculty and the students work together as a team towards the overall improvement of both academic and non-academic affairs.
Integration of the Curriculum
Faculty collaborates regularly with the industry to develop joint courses to help students understand the linkage between functional areas. This provides an avenue to observe impact of decisions on organisation, people and society and deal with the repercussions of decision making in one area on the other.
Global Learning
Recognizing the need for our future leaders to operate in a global setting, all our courses provide relevant multi-national inputs that help learn the best practices in differing socio, legal, cultural environments.
Outcome-Based Learning
While designing courses and evaluation mechanisms, we start by identifying the learning objectives that students are expected to meet by the end of the course. These learning outcomes may be of knowledge acquisition or development of attitude/ability. They are clearly specified in the course outlines and linked to specific assessment criteria on which they get measured. This leads to complete transparency between the instructor and students.
The curriculum at FIIB is developed and delivered using the following principles
FIIB believes in education that is rooted in practice and a course on entrepreneurial innovation was a step in this direction to equip young budding entrepreneurs/managers with knowledge to manage innovation and survive in turbulent markets. The course was delivered jointly by FIIB faculty members with their Dutch counterparts from INPAQT. The idea was to expose students to concepts of business modelling, innovation, and entrepreneurship, both theoretically and practically through various pedagogical techniques such as cases, computer simulation and group projects. FIIB believes that such endeavors will further strengthen the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at FIIB.

Individual mentoring and customized Career development planning is an integral part of the 2-year PGDM experience at FIIB. A dedicated team of career counselors, trainers and faculty mentors hand-hold students to help them achieve their unrealized potential to build life-long employability focused skills, and develop the fortitude to face the global economic and social challenges of the future. Some of these enabling steps are:
Career Mapping-Our dedicated team of career counselors and trainers, work with each individual student, to facilitate their improved understanding of the self. Based on this analysis we suggest ‘Individual Action Plans’, stating the required trainings that the person should undergo during this journey of learning.
Employability Skill Development-Based on the ‘Individual Action Plans’, we conduct different rounds of learning helping students' build on key employability skills like Soft Skills, Leadership Skills, and Problem Solving ability.

This process of learning through active participation is institutionalized by creating forums and action committees, that provide an excellent platform to strengthen managerial capabilities through practical application of life size projects outside the class room. A testament to the student driven culture at FIIB are the unique and myriad ‘Beyond the Classroom Experiences’ that have now been frozen into the annual calendar.

Through the leadership platform of FIIB, I learnt the art of presenting facts and figures underlining the source. After all accuracy can be brought in only when we are aware of the efficacy of the source. This helped me walk that extra mile with ease and conviction while conducting research, sharing information and making presentations.
Utilizing this leadership platform of FIIB, I was able to showcase my ability to think out of the box. Coming up with mult iple problem solving suggestions has been my biggest value add from FLP. Every session of FLP brought me closer to my goal of being an ‘Independent Thinker’. The importance of introspection was also a major take away from this platform.

Thank you, The F I I B Leadership Program! I was one of the select few to work for the NGO, ASER. This gave me opportunity to r e c o n n e c t w i t h m y philanthropic side. With ASER, I got an opportunity t o i m p l e m e n t t h e classroom learning’s of HR into practice which acted as an eye opener.
FLP helped me broaden and widen my vision as I set my career journey. i n t e r a c t i o n w i t h prominent people gave me clarity about future possibilities available to our generation.
Transforming a shy person such as myself into a reasonably confident professional is a huge tribute to the FLP. The program has helped me step out of my comfort zone and feel better p r e p a r e d f o r t h e corporate experience that awaits me.
While academics was never a problem, I was not too comfortable with speaking or presenting in public. Through various trainings conducted during the journey of FLP, I was oriented to the art of public speaking and presenting facts in a convincing and credible manner. This gave me c o n f i d e n c e w h i c h h e l p e d m e w h i l e negotiating with the banks fo r c reat ing gateways for donation for NGO.

FLP took me through a self-exploratory journey, thereby bringing me to the platform where I could give a shape to my vision.
I thought "getting good marks" was everything in academics. Through my course, I realized I needed more to achieve my goals. FLP motivated me to explore more possibilities and facets. Whether it was writing for the CSSAR website, an NGO that I was associated with during my FLP internship or give a presentation during the Finance Conclave, FLP groomed me to do it all. Thank you, mentors for giving me a better shot at success!
belief began to change when I got selected for FLP. This program enabled me to enhance my skills & empowered me with confidence, style and strategy that helped me lead effectively during the ‘Meraki Summit’- our Business Plan Competition administered by the UDAAN Club, which bagged the attention of all top B-Schools across the country.

Importance of flexibil ity, relevance of change and its adaptat ions a re va lue additions which FLP has added to my personality. Working for an NGO through FLP gave me an insight into the responsibilities which modern Indian youth needs to undertake.
FLP pushed me to the limit as I multi tasked between my c lasses, p ro jects, FLP sessions that ran late into the evenings, NGO project, corporate guest sessions etc. Today, I can work well even in tiring conditions and balance many activities simultaneously.
During this journey of learning, I realized that just learning is not sufficient. To display that learning in an effective manner, using the right medium is crucial. Non-verbal communication is an essential element of over-all conversation ability. The FLP platform empowered me with the value of effective non-verbal communication, enabling me to improve my interpersonal skills, a critical element in the world of work.
FLP has taught me the value of seriousness, dedication and achievement. It has helped me to overcome my weaknesses and apply my strengths to shape up my career path.

Stage fright has always haunted me. In my first interaction with my FLP mentors I discussed this at length. In the beginning. I even refused to participate in such forums. However, through exclusive interactions with corporate mentors, I was able to overcome this fear and today have showcased my skills to one of the top HR Consulting firms.
I am waiting for the day when all of us get placed and I can throw a party for my FLP friends and also cook for them. I love cooking and photography, but FLP made me realize that I also love research. I have done lot of research for the NGO, ASER that I got an opportunity to work for.

LIJINJOHNI have been a little cynical all my life and have avoided introspection. Getting selected in FLP was a turning point for my self-awareness. I learnt to introspect. This led to a positive shift in my perspective. The NGO experience, which was a critical part of FLP imbibed in me the desire to contribute in meaningful ways to our society. My favorite moment at FIIB was the launch of FLP. The entire journey has been replete with learnings, but with fun. Trainings, Projects, Research, Work, NGO, experience, Mentor Interactions and Corporate Sessions were a few avenues created for leadership and learning. The opportunities were very helpful and shall be cherished for life.
FLP has been like a launch pad for me for many activities- whether it was work ing for an NGO, Udayan Care; interviewing Alumni of our institute; working for my institute's conferences or working with A i r te l fo r the i r De lh i Marathon. Jaagriti, a student club on campus, works with the mandate to make a difference in the society by garnering energies and ideas of the student fraternity. To meet this mission, Jaagriti organises various events round the year and works in the direction of creating awareness and ensuring that student fraternity at FIIB upholds the key value of sustainability. Every year it organizes various drives like Blood Donation Camp, E-waste Collection Drive and Clothing Drive. The Club also partners with leading organisations that work in this field to undertake sustainability projects. Used papers from FIIB are recycled with the help of Chintan and Donation Campaigns are undertaken in association with Goonj. This year, FIIB also launched a Solid Waste Management System in association with Green Bandhu. While these are round the year activities, the most fulfilling and impactful of the events is when the young FIIB-ians play host to underprivileged children in the campus for a day and organize art competitions, health check up camps and an entertainment show for them. It is here, that the students give back to the society in leaps and bounds by fulfilling their share of Social Responsibility.
