The Hearts and Journeys travel agency was born from the dream of two young people, Henrique and Rosário, who wished to be an example of social entrepreneurship. The main aim is to reduce social inequality in access to tourism, to provide memorable experiences immersing in the local community through volunteering and to share the historical and cultural richness of the country visiting the most typical and emblematic places. The Experience

Every morning we’ll depart on an adventure to Cantinho das Aromáticas to learn more about organic farming and make volunteering in their farm. The volunteer work is always full of joy and the most important is the human share and bonds of trust and friendship created.

In the afternoon, a guide will lead a city tour, visiting the most typical and emblematic places of the city and sharing remarkable stories. Porto is a city full of charm, with a rich heritage, beautiful gardens and plazas, and traditional markets, each one with an authentic charisma, combining simplicity with modernity.

Buying this package you will help an underprivileged to fulfill the dream of making a tourist trip.

The package includes:

Day 2 – Porto’s downtown9:00 - Meeting point at the hotel’s reception to go for the volunteer action

Short break to socialize and have a snack

12:20 - Return to hotel

Lunch in pre-established restaurant

14:30 - Meeting point at the hotel’s reception for the guided tour

(Duration: approximately 2-3 hours)

In this day we will visit Porto’s downtown which is the central area of the city where trades and services are located as well as some traditional groceries, the São Bento railway station and other important monu-ments.

Day 3 – Ribeira’s Day9:00 - Meeting point at the hotel’s reception to go for the volunteer action







On this day will be visiting some of the oldest and most typical spots of the city which includes the His-toric area and part of the World Heritage Site desig-nated by UNESCO.


Day 4 - Day of the Palace9:00 - Meeting point at the hotel’s reception to go for the volunteer action

We’ll visit the gardens of Palácio de Cristal which are characterized by beautiful green spaces where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Rio Douro and the sea. This day includes visits to Casa da Músi-ca, known for its architecture, and several museums.


Day 5 - Vila Nova Gaia day9:00 - Meeting point at the hotel’s reception to go for the volunteer action

The afternoon will be spent in Vila Nova de Gaia, which has a remarkable monumental and artistic heritage, known primarily for the Port wine cellars and the beautiful landscape incorporating the river and the city of Porto.


Day 6 - Serralves day9:00 - Meeting point at the hotel’s reception to go for the volunteer action

We will visit Serralves – it`s a beautiful green space, with 18 acres involving the Museum of Contemporary Art (Serralves Foundation), a building designed by architect Siza Vieira.

This day will also include a visit Foz, known for the beautiful landscape by the sea.
