Overview

Broadsoft’s BroadWorks® is a VoIP applications platform that allows service providers to offer revenue-generating enhanced voice applica-tions. It is a standards-based, next-generation platform that supports SIP. Business applica-tion offerings include Hosted PBX, IP Centrex, Business Trunking, and Mobile PBX. Deployed at the service provider’s site, BroadWorks provides features through multiple architec-tures, including Softswitch, Class 5, and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).

Citel’s Portico™ Telephone VoIP Adaper (TVA™) is a customer-premises SIP-enabling device that allows digital (PBX), P phone (Centrex), and analog handsets to be directly connected to a hosted IP platform over existing wiring – no LAN assessments or upgrades, or new IP phones needed. Telephony features are mapped onto existing handset buttons, while more complex, graphics-intensive applications are delivered to desktop or laptop computers. With Portico TVA, the most common objec-tions to hosted IP -- migration expense and complexity, business disruption, and user retraining -- are removed.

Together, BroadWorks and Portico TVA enable service providers to accelerate Hosted IP seat sales. Broadworks provides the engine for VoIP’s benefits; Portico TVA makes the enter-prise transition fast, easy, and affordable. Enterprises will see nothing but the benefits of VoIP when presented with a hosted IP offer-ing. BroadWorks and Portico TVA make hosted IP so appealing, service providers can close sales even in the middle of the traditional enterprise telephony “buy cycle”.

Features and Benefits

BroadWorks®From a single system, BroadWorks supports Hosted PBX or IP Centrex telephony platforms. The Hosted PBX solution is a network-based

telephony application that provides IP dial tone, personal and group calling features, and web-configurable service management equivalent to an IP PBX. This solution offers greater deployment flexibility without the investment, maintenance, and overhead of a traditional PBX. The IP Centrex application enables calling features equivalent to a typical Centrex offering, and can be bundled with access, Internet connectivity, and other data services.

All BroadWorks application platforms offer unified communications, an open-standards-based architecture, centralized service management, compatibility with Sun/Solaris and IMB/Linux hardware, and multi-tiered administration. They also offer numerous communication features including voice mail, fax mail, auto attendant, selective call forwarding, conferencing, and simultaneous ring (see included comprehensive feature list).

Portico™ Telephone VoIP Adapter (TVA™)Citel’s Portico TVA integrates seamlessly with the BroadWorks Hosted PBX and IP Centrex platforms to deliver IP telephony features and functionality to more than 100 handset types. Portico TVA is available with 12 or 24 ports in Digital, P phone, and analog configurations, and easily scales to the number of customer enterprise stations. All configurations are available with one or two optional FXO ports, which allow for easy 911 call locating and survivability in the case of WAN failure.

Portico TVA is deployed at the customer site and resides in the phone closet. All Portico TVA configurations are 1U rack-mountable units. TVA units are easily configured and managed by the service provider or customer. All functions may be accessed using an HTML, local terminal, or Telnet connection. One year limited warranty with advance replacement of failed units included on all Portico TVA units. Extended warranty options available.
