BROADLOGIC NETWORK TECHNOLOGIES designs and supplies breakthrough semiconductor technologies that enable broadband network operators to offer next-generation digital video, voice and data services today. BROADLOGIC’s patented technologies act as broadband engines to power subscriber-premises devices such as ultra-high-speed cable modems, advanced digital set-top boxes, DVRs, and new service platforms. By enabling these devices to simultaneously process an order of magnitude more bandwidth than conventional approaches, BROADLOGIC’s WIDEBAND™ technologies unlock the true potential of broadband networks. BROADLOGIC’s innovative WIDEBAND technologies deliver unprecedented levels of performance when compared to conventional implementations of tuning, demodulation, MPEG decoding and NTSC/PAL/SECAM encoding. Even with this quantum leap, BROADLOGIC’s solutions remain fully compatible with today’s network infrastructures.. Accordingly, BROADLOGIC is committed to an open, standards-based approach and is dedicating substantive resources to work with CableLabs towards a rapid DOCSIS 3.0 implementation. THE BROADLOGIC SOLUTION

BROADLOGIC is integrating WIDEBAND technology into current cable architectures at all points along the broadband delivery chain. Backward compatible with DOCSIS protocols, WIDEBAND is the bonding of multiple QAM channels into one ‘virtual’ wideband channel at the MPEG layer. BROADLOGIC’s WIDEBAND methodology utilizes standard QAM modulation over multiple existing channels to deliver GigE (Gigabit Ethernet) class downstream capacity to individual subscriber premises. BROADLOGIC WIDEBAND™ overcomes existing technological barriers to dramatically improve the performance of today’s high-speed data and digital video environments through the simultaneous processing of large amounts of content representing hundreds or even thousands of digital streams. Targeted at key applications within subscriber premises equipment, BROADLOGIC’s single-chip implementations are optimized to perform a combination of media processing functions. This compares to conventional solutions from current suppliers that require multiple components to perform such functions and thus are limited to devices supporting one or two channels at a time.

MANAGEMENT Drawing upon accomplished leadership from major technology companies including AT&T, C-Cube, DiviCom, Livermore National Labs, Loral, Motorola, National Semiconductor, Quantum, Scientific-Atlanta, and Siemens, BROADLOGIC’s team consists of leading experts in RF, analog, digital signal processing, MPEG encode/decode, and logic design. TONY FRANCESCA, President and CEO – Tony Francesca brings to BroadLogic over 25 years of experience in networking and consumer electronics working for industry leaders AT&T, Siemens, US Robotics, Quantum Corporation, Teleglobe and most recently Tantivy Communications, another fabless semiconductor company. As President and CEO, Francesca is charged with spearheading the adoption of WideBand technologies in cable broadband sectors across the globe. WEIMIN ZHANG, Chief Technical Officer – WeiMin Zhang, PhD, is responsible both for defining the architecture of BroadLogic’s technology and leading the team implementing it. With over a decade of research and technical management experience in various advanced communications and radio frequency fields, Dr. Zhang has held management and technical positions at Skytune Corporation, National Semiconductor, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Space Systems Loral. THOMAS A. LERONE, Chief Financial Officer – Tom Lerone has over 25 years financial management experience in high growth technology-based companies from start up phase through initial public offerings. He joined BroadLogic in September 1999 following the profitable sale of DigiCash Incorporated, a provider of secure payment systems for Internet-based commerce, where he was Chief Financial Officer. JEFF HUPPERTZ, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development – Jeff Huppertz has worldwide responsibility for BroadLogic’s marketing and business development initiatives that include fostering key broadband industry relationships, strategic positioning and product management. A twenty-year veteran of the broadband industry, Huppertz has a lengthy track record of success guiding marketing efforts for companies including OpenTV, Motorola, Scientific-Atlanta and Zenith Electronics. THOMAS AYERS, Vice President, Engineering – Thomas Ayers has over 15 years experience in engineering development for data communications and video solutions applied in cable modems, set-top box devices, and video compression head-end equipment. Prior to Broadlogic, Ayers held various management and engineering positions within Believe, Inc., C-Cube Microsystems, Inc. and DiviCom, Inc.
