About us

In the 15 years since it was founded, Broadland Group has grown from an independent asbestos testing and monitoring service into a multi-site business offering a wide range of services to building owners and managers.

Broadland Group advises a wide range of organisations, including hospitals, schools and local authorities as well as companies involved in everything from insurance to power stations.

In addition to asbestos testing and monitoring, the Broadland Group advises building owners and managers on a wide range of potential health hazards which affect their legal, safety and environmental responsibilities. Recognised training covering some of the key health and safety requirements includes UKATA approved courses on asbestos matters.

Offices at Norwich, Chesterfield and Wickford comprise of fifty professionals. With a wide range of skills and specialisations, the laboratories at Chesterfield and Norwich are UKAS accredited for the bulk analysis of asbestos and staffed to provide a rapid service.

Broadland Group is proficient in and accredited for a wide range of services on a stand-alone basis or as a package combining linked activities. For many clients we work on a retained basis: identifying, assessing, managing and mitigating risks across an entire estate.

Asbestos removal management A complete management service for removal or encapsulation of asbestos, including scope of work required, supervision of contractors, and dealing with issues arising to make sure you meet all your legal obligations in asbestos management.

Asbestos surveying, consultancy and analysisWe produce and maintain essential Asbestos Management Plans for a wide range of organisations. We can also help with surveys, risk assessments, training and laboratory testing where required. Broadland Group is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory.

Building health managementA variety of issues give rise to ‘sick building syndrome’ which can result in lower productivity and potential health claims. With wide ranging expertise we can carry out the surveys that can isolate what can be multi-layered problems.

Control of substances hazardous to healthWe analyse processes to identify potential sources of hazards, levels and routes of exposure. We can then advise on control procedures, reduction of exposure, required protection equipment and mandatory record keeping.

Legionella control and managementLegionella has become more widely recognised as an issue of concern to building owners. The service extends to risk assessments, system schematics, log books, sampling and analysis. Broadland Group also provides training in Legionella awareness and management.

Local exhaust ventilationWe advise on requirements and test the efficient functioning of systems for removing hazardous chemicals or dust. We can also help with training and record keeping to help you fulfill your statutory requirements.

Sterile and clean air environmentsWe provide specialist sampling and testing, including microbiological sampling for health care businesses, as well as validation of operating theatres and other clean areas.

Workplace noise and assessment We undertake noise assessments to meet the requirements of the regulations and can advise on noise reduction, protective measures and record keeping for workplace and environmental noise.

Training

Training of staff is a statutory requirement. We provide a range of essential courses at our in-house training facilities in Chesterfield, Wickford, Norwich or in your own premises.
